Hi Osian

I was in your position when I went for my first scan with Poppy as I had also miscarried the previous year at 10 weeks. All I can say is what my MW told me which was each pregnancy is unique and try not to dwell on the negative. I know its easier said that done though!

Lots of good luck and once you have seen your baby's heartbeat on Thursday you will feel on top of the world . Don't forget to let us know how you get on xx

snugglepuss - Peter David arrived 6 days early at 17:47 on 3rd April 2008 7lb by emergency forceps delivery
JoJoB - Iris Mary arrived at 3.30 am on 17 April at 6lb 10oz
redflame705 - Baby Erin Louise was born on 11th April (bang on due date!) @ 13.03 weighing 6lb 4oz
debecca - Constance Jane 27th April 5.45pm 8lb 9oz.
lostbuckaroos - Baby girl born on 1st May at 9.20am
traveller - Baby boy born on 4th May 12.35 am (35 minutes after his due date!)
gemsygem (Sheel's daughter)- Erin Maria Lilian arrived on 5th May at 3.45pm (16 days after due date!) weighing 7lbs 10oz.

PROBABLY GIVEN BIRTH BUT TOO WORN OUT TO LOG ON LIST
Usually allow 2 weeks after EDD before transferring to this list...

Assuming everything goes well at the 20 weeks scan (I'm such an optimist me!) we're planning on going for a 4d scan, mostly to keep the over-excited Grannies happy! We discovered a leaflet at our hospital and it turns out they do them, the bottom package (20 minutes scan time and 4 pictures) is only £60 which is much cheaper than we were expecting! (We were planning to go to the one you went to SB as we're Merseyside too!)

Glad you're getting much more movement Keely, mine is still not overly wriggly just the odd flick every couple of weeks!

Gemma and especially Erin are doing great thanks Gemma's had a problem with a rash and swollen feet , but is getting better. Erin is doing wonderfully. She's ever so good. *touch wood* that she stays that way! She seems to be sleeping for England at the moment and nothing seems to faze her. The midwife came today and did the heel pr1ck test and it didn't bother her at all! They've had loads of visitors and Erin just sleeps through it all! :rolleyes:

Oh yes , i'm loving being a Granny , I highly recommend it :cool: :j

I am 11 weeks on Wednesday and I was so nervous before my scan. I had spent far too much time looking on the internet and had whipped myself into a frenzy so OH and I decided to go for a private early scan which was worth it as it calmed me right down (well for a little while).

Think the worrying just comes with being pregnant, we worry everything will be alright for 9 months and then there will be a lifetime of worrying once they are born!:o

My sickness is slowly getting better too so fingers crossed the tiredness will fade a little as well.

Good luck on Thursday for your scan and enjoy it!

Hi everyone, I've been following this thread for what seems like weeks now but as I've just had my 12 week scan, I'm happily adding myself to the list!
Osian - I too had a mc at 11 weeks back in Oct and I have been totally stressed out until I saw the heart beat today. Now I feel like a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders and feel like I can start enjoying it! I already have a dd who was 3 in Jan.
red balloon - I'm due the same day as you (although my dd was 2 weeks late so am expecting to be induced again this time!) Its not as bad as anyone makes it out to be - when I went into hospital as least I knew I wasn't coming out til I had the baby! Labours vibes to all those due soon and congrats to all the new bubs (sheel - erin is lovely, brought a tear to my eye, these blasted hormones, mind you I can even cry at britains got talent, how sad am I!) and newly pregnant peeps too! :T
