I'm just back from the hospital which is like a bar the amount of women (heavily pregnant) standing outside smoking is unbelievable. I was speaking to a nurse who told me some even disappear off and leave their babies alone to have a smoke. Seems it's a major source of complications.
I agree with keely - keep off the ibuprofen & stick to paracetamol. Coleslaw you'd be best to make your own as it can contain listeria (as can all prepacked salads) but shop bought mayo is fine. Homemade coleslaw tastes nicer anyway - just use shop bought mayo.
I wouldn't beat yourself up over a couple of small drinks either - it's not like you're downing a bottle of vodka every day, is it? Or smoking crack? I'm sure everyone has done something they have been advised against - I went to a festival before I knew I was pregnant so I'm not going to beat myself up over all the beer. And if by slim chance it does mean my baby has FAS I won't love them any less, will I?
Thanks for that! I know, I must stop. Mum says I mustn't stress myself out as she had high blood pressure when pregnant with me. Think I am just having a bad day, sitting at work thinking about all the bad things I could have done to my unborn child. I'm knackered and drinking coffee which set me off I think.
Can't believe women smoke when pregnant, but I think it must be blooming hard to give up.
EDIT: I don't believe this. Now the building alarm at work is going off! This is not doing my head any good!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I checked the packet on the Iubroprofen and it said "Do not take if in the last three months of pregnancy" and "Talk to your doctor if in the first six months of pregnancy." But what is he possibly going to say? So far, I'm having a normal pregnancy, so ringing him up would seem like a waste of time. At the time, I was desperate and it was all we had in the house, but I still feel bad about it.
Aarggh, there are so many things to remember, just hoping I haven't done any damage to anything.
Did you get my post about how I use you as my ball post and sorry for missing your movements post?
It really is up to you what you choose to do/dont do, eat/drink etc-some people are quite laid back and do have the odd drink etc. After my SIL went through quite a few miscarriages, i really do see having a baby as a miracle and so im trying to do everything i can to look after this little one growing inside me. Some people may think im being too obsessive/worrying etc, but im doing what feels right for me.
Dont worry about wasting gp's time-you're pregnant and some tablets could harm your developing baby (not trying to scare you here). if you dont want to ring the gp, theres always the midwife (when i rang up-were very helpfull)im only saying this because i was already on medication when i became pregnant, and had to swap to an alertnative asap. If i hadnt asked-they may not have picked up on it straight away. My SIL lost babies because of her medication and they didnt even realise this/tell her. So i always ask and check!
Oh yes-i did read your post thank you! i did thank youJust felt a bit deflated that no one noticed at first lol
This may be my only pregnancy-so im noting down all the milestones!
Sorry ive wrote a lot, probably sounding like im trying to scare you but im not. My sister has been through this three times-and only with the last she chilled out and didnt worry too much!

Thanks again keely. My doctor and hospital have been less than helpful so far, so didn't think to call them. Will just buy some paracetamol for me and avoid the hard stuff from now on.
Whereabouts are you from by the way? Like I said, I've been following your progress and think it would be nice to keep in touch. How old are you?
Anyone else aroundbout 14 weeks preggers that want to swop stories with me?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Gah, I'm due TOMORROW.
Not that I've had any signs of him making an appearence, mind."outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. inside of a dog, it's too dark to read" - Groucho Marx0 -
Keely, I am due just the day after you and have just started feeling the bubbles in the last week -weird sensation but it sounds like it is the real thing!
And PolyAnna - I know exactly what you mean about worrying about what to do or not to do! I have more or less had a non-stop cold for three months now and am struggling to sleep with my sniffling nose.. I have stuck with paracetamol, hot tea and tried salt water nasal sprays but with very little luck..
I had a whiff of decongestant the other night and slept much better - but feel really bad for doing it! It feels like all the "knowledge" we have now is just making things more complicated! Staying of (high amounts of) alcohol and smoking seem logical but many other choices are less clear for me!
Best of luck to all of usI am sure we will have a group of healthy and well looked-after little ones!
