I am so confused. Girl in work today swore blind that since apr 2008 we would be entitled to a whole year off work with SMP. As I understood we got as follows:-
6 weeks @ 90% wage
33 [EMAIL="weeks@SMP"]weeks @SMP[/EMAIL] which is £117ish per week.
remaining 13 weeks no SMP.

Girl at work says we would be entitled to SMP for the last 13 weeks also. Is this true?
Also, do we pay tax on SMP?

My OH (he works in payroll) says the government promised they'd pay a years SMP by the end of their term in office , but it's 39 weeks at the moment. SMP is taxable.

Well , Gemma's had a sweep today (she didn't find it bad at all) , but nothing's happening yet AFAIK.

If nothing happens in the next week or so she's booked in to be induced on May 3rd which was my Mum's birthday! It'll be spooky if she gives birth on Tuesday though as that is the anniversary of my Mum's death :eek:

Sheel - according to my midwife a sweep kicks off labour in about 50% of cases, usually where the body was nearly ready to go anyway. Mine's booked for 3rd May, a week after I'm due.

Happy due date for me for tomorrow. She needs to get a shift on now!! :rolleyes:

hi i hope you are feeling better after your bath and sleep. my sample goes from clear to strong, midwife said my sample was okay on tuesday, i am full of a cold again, seems like everyone is.

i am going to stop watching corrie, as i know i will get paranoid about what is going to happen to marie!!!!

Hi there!


Just adding myself to the list of TTC'ers. The last time I was pregnant was back in 1988 so I'm expecting a bit of a culture shock for my next pregnancy!

I have just had my mirena coil removed this week and hope that my cycle will be back to normal quite soon. Do any of you have experience of this and how long it took to get back to your usual self?

Kathy good luck, I don't frequent this thread much now as my wee one is 8 months old now, although I had the mirena coil removed before my third and was pregnant within a month!!
