I'm fine thanks. Loads better now not working. Was getting really tired. Finding it much harder than last time - was 30 then, now 34 with a 3yr old to chase! I think I had that many problems at the start I just wanted to take it easy too. Is your job flexible or do you need to give much notice?

well im a student nurse so its just a case of me saying right ive finished really. i had given 30th july as date but then decided to go another three weeks instead of four then wasnt well last week - see earlier post! and knocked me for six a bit, feel like ive aged overnight and have really slowed down. thing is, im off this week coming (i was meant to be working relief at a nursery but have cancelled)but the real work starts next week when i go back to placement - childrens ward - so instead of slowing down towards end i actually get busier!

    hmmm.

maybe i will just throw the towel in and make the most of my last few weeks being pregnant..
have things gone smoothly for you lately then , im sorry i havent been on this thread for a while as i have been really hectic. i can remember your posts from early on though.
wander which one of us will have baby first! is your date still 9th sept mine is x

hi again all, had another 4d scan but was blurry again baby just is shy i think! they asked us if we wanna go back again (for free again!) but i dont know, maybe we should jst wait till she is born

Oh no, Emma, I have mine tomorrow and was sooooooo excited until I read your post ;) :rotfl:

Is it because you are 30 weeks? I was told the optimum time was 26/28 weeks

DH and I are convinced that babe is a boy (but I really do think he would like a girl but he would never admit it!). Hope we find out tomorrow :j

Good luck JustKeepSwimming! I remember how exciting it was when DH and I finally made the BIG decision to try! :D

I too am deliberating about when I want to start maternity leave.

With my first two pgs, I lived in another country, and there weren't all these 'notifying' dates about when you wanted to stop working, you just decided when you wanted ! Hence I worked until the day before both my boys were born. The downside, was we only got 3 months off, but it was all paid.

However, this time I am 6 years older and have definitely found this pg more tiring. I also work in a shop (previously in an office) although as manager I can delegate myself to whatever I fancy doing, but it still doesn't mean sitting all day.

I only notified my HO that I was pg last week, and got through the maternity pack, which states that I can get 3 months at full pay, which has got me thinking all over again.

I also have 4 weeks worth of holiday to still take, although I have booked 2-3 days for this month, 6 days for next month and 3-5 days in October, meaning I still have at least 6 days of 'to decide'. My biggest bug bear at the moment, is that I haven't taken all my holiday before I have Sprog I'll lose them, argh! SMP has to start the day after baby is born. And I really don't want to sit at home waiting for Sprog to be born either.

I have to notify work officially later this month, hopefully I can make up my mind before then.

I think when you start maternity leave will depend a bit on how long you're planning to take off - if you're planning to take a full year off then starting early isn't such a big deal but if you're only planning on a short time because you can't survive on SMP then I would think you'd want to work as near to your due date as possible to make the most of the time you have with your child. I've basically taken very early maternity leave as I was so tired I couldn't work and so I'm due back when my child is about 6 months (after a year off) but it's flexible enough that I can take more time out if I need to so I'm not too worried.

my date was the 6th scan said the 9th so we will see ;)

Septemberbaby i had my 1st 4d scan at 26 weeks, was good but the company said they could get better pictures so to go back again. basically my baby hides her face in my placenta and wont be coaxed out!
to see my clip go to www.kewego.com and search "4d scan" then type in "emma and simon" it brings it up. see what you think.
the scans are good and im sure you will love it all my friends have dont be put off by my story!! i would still reccommend them :T
