I've got my first stretch mark  a right humdinger right the way down the middle of my bump from top to bottom - I knew it'd happen at some stage but still...0

Hi All!
I had my scan today! I've been very excited since i heard the heart beating when i went for my midwife appointment on Tuesday!
Anyway...baby is a real show off already! He/she was busy doing a head stand at first, then rolled over & was really kicking me & then the wee one started to move it's hand almost as though he/she was waving at us!:T
They dated me at being 14wks+2 where as after my scan at 6wks+4 this would have made me now 13wks+5. Anyway as it's not more or less than a week they don't bother changing my due date...good job really as that would have made my expected due date Christmas day!:santa2:
Ha ha! xxOur 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!
Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:0 -

Morning girls!
I've got an appointment with an acupuncturist today to try and get this baby turned head down using moxibustion. I haven't got high hopes (I don't really believe in traditional Chinese acupuncture methods, and I don't respond particularly well to Western acupuncture anyway) but I'm desperate! Here's hoping it's a success before we resort to next week's ECV ...
Anyway, it's lovely and sunny here so at long last I've got the baby clothes in the washing machine. About time at 36+2... I guess I should finish packing the hospital bag, huh?!
Hope all you ladies have a nice day, and Justie - my belly looks like a big pink and purple watermelon, so you have my sympathies! :rotfl:0 -
Hi guys
Justie- stretchmarks eh, I've got more again but given up worrying about them. I knew one lady who had an 11 or 12 lb baby and had not got a single stretchmark, she was obviously blessed with naturally stretchy skin. Unlike me!
Very emotional- just keep having tears etc, DD2 keeps asking why I am sad and I keep having to tell her I'm not.
Went to pamper evening last night, didn't get any pampering though as I ended up walking around chatting for the whole evening. Everyone kept saying they can't believe baby is still hanging in there. Everyone so sweet though. We have been calling this baby Arnold as DD1 liked Pig from the Kipper books. Anyway we said we couldn't call it pig so she changed it to Arnold. Last night a lady at the papmer eve bought me a Kipper book with Arnold in. I was so blown away, all I could do was keep saying Thanks. What does everyone else call their baby?
Anyway got loads of cleaning to do, then shopping with OH somewhere, just need to get out of the house, prety much been stuck in my village for last week or so for fear of going too far alone.
Have a good day.

thanks ladies I know I'm not alone I just was under some delusion that having got to 32 weeks with a bowling ball that I might escape
Eels I hope your acupuncture works - there are things you can do through hypnobirthing breathing and visualisation as well to get baby to turn if you want to explore that avenue as well
and how sweet is that Jen - those kind gestures usually leave me blubbing and that's without the hormones :rotfl:
I like Arnold for the bump I might adopt that - mine sometimes gets Algernon but mostly Bubba or BubHope you don't have to wait too long now!

The only 'person' I know says humdinger is Engie Benjy (mums of toddler boys will know
)
I never had stretchmarks on my tummy with DS, and so far there's nothing there again, but before you all hate me, I've got them on my hips and will probably get them on my boobs as well (v. attractive, especially combined with those lovely blue veins!)
All my stretchmarks after DS faded pretty well, and the other night, DH - bless him - genuinely said "Stretchmarks, but you don't have any!" :happyhear
My hormones are back with a vengeance. I woke up in tears this morning as I had the most horrible dream, which basically involved everyone deserting me and being really nasty to me - DH and my parents. I was sobbing for ages and DH thinks I've totally lost it. :rotfl:0 -
Dormouse - we got the SMA calendar first and then the good stuff arrived after, and i NEVER phone anyone if i can internet it! lol
so it should turn up...
well, we have been on holibobs all week and had a great time but it was all nearly off on monday morning, we were doing the last minute packing and then all of a sudden i started getting really bad palpitations, now i was a 20 a day smoker for 15 years so ive experienced palps before but never like this... I really thought i was going to have a heart attack, I got my daughter to fetch my OH who was filling the car with everything but the kitchen sink and by the time he got to me i was on the bathroom floor, heart beating madly, waaaaay too fast, my breathing was really laboured and i felt very dizzy and sick...
anyway, i recovered a bit but my heart was still beating hard enough that my whole body moved with each beat and OH said you could actually see it beating in my chest,
he phoned the docs who characteristically couldnt give a crap and told him to call a midwife  she said it wasnt a normal pregnancy related problem but if i wanted to come in she would check the baby for me, but we decided to go to the docs and get me checked then make them check the baby!
by the time i was seen the doc said my heart was still beating a bit fast but that was it... and he wasnt going to check the bubba until i made him!
how the hell were we supposed to relax on holiday waiting for the baby to kick? wondering if i have done it some damage!!?? especially as he said if it happened again that i had to call an ambulance!!!!
the heartbeat was fine, but he said it felt like the baby was bigger than my 20 weeks (but i have a scan next wednesday so we shall see about that)
he said i may have a thing called SVT, but that it may have been a weird panic attack thing
ive been fine all week, no signs of anything else happening... thank god!
ps - baby loved the loud music... kicked up a storm every nightso im pretty sure its ok

Oh, I got the calendar thingie about two months ago. I really hope to get the other nice freebies.
Oh, and what a terrible experience for you. I have never experienced that but I would definitely call an ambulance if it happens again. So often you get check by the 'professionals' after everything has settled down.
And it is terrible they didn't want to check baby until you insisted.
My scan is on Monday, and I am so excited ! I am sure you will feel baby soon. I felt DS2 and this one at 19 weeks, so its sure to be any day now.0 -

me? ive been feeling this baby bubbling since about 13 / 14 weeks and its been kicking, hiccuping and prodding me hard enough to be felt on the outside for at least 3 weeks now!
its at it right now infact!
our next "hospital" scan is wednesday, cant wait to get another look... and we are taking DD so she can have a peep at the baby too,
but we are really looking forward to the 4D scan in august.... we are really counting down the days to that one :j0
