Welshlassie my GP said me that first babies engage earlier so it's not impossible that your baby's engaged and it doesn't necessarily mean you'll be early

Dormouse I didn't get the towel either but then I registered online and I think you have to phone up to get the towel...

Welshlassie my first baby was engaged from about 34 weeks aswell - unfortunately I still went over by two weeks and had to be induced. I was induced with all three of my kids and am really hoping that this one decides to make its own entrance into the world. I want to know what the panics like if you go into labour at home :rotfl:
They took my signature away!!!!

Dormouse, I never received anything interesting from them either. But then I'd never phone up if I can internet!
I got a towel with the Bounty George voucher instead.

Must be a day for it - hope you feel better soon Emma.

Had my 25 week check up with the GP today and she has signed me off for two weeks - anaemia - when she said this initially I thought it was a bit over the top but really two weeks rest sounds like a dream and I cannot disagree that I need it. It does mean they're throwing in an extra blood test, just for fun! And now I have the joy of telling my boss's manager. She's a right witch.

Baby is great though, good heartbeat and my size is 'perfect' for my dates - very reassuring. I am getting so sick of people at work saying that I'm huge - I don't think I am at all and I might start replying 'mm, you too'.

Going to hire a doppler for OH's benefit. There was a post on the old thread warning against doing this as you don't know if it's too fast/slow/whatever but my GP was encouraging as it's a 'novelty' rather than reassurance - but also advised against excessive use.

Can anyone recommend any sites to hire one from?

Oh and at the risk of repeating myself (I can't remember when I last posted or what I said) we are going for a private 4D scan next week :j

thanks everyone for kind words i have plentiful supply of magazines and chocolates from my lovely mum and hubby so im doing okay! thought i might be anaemic too but just checked and pregnancare has iron in and i take it every day so must be okay ?

doppler, i hired one early on in pregnancy from http://www.dopplerhire.co.uk/ its £15 ish per month plus five pounds postage (when you post it back its about £3) only thing is, with the postal strike starting today it might take a few days to get to you - but you pay for it up front so being an mse-er you might not have it for as long as you have paid for ;)
it was good to have but i just treated it as bit of novelty - did give me some piece of mind though as i had had mc last year.

i got the towel from sma and the calendar but i rang them up, didnt join online as heard you got more freebies by phoning. the towel is a really nice freebie too.

i had a 4d scan three weeks ago - they said the pictures were a little blurry so invited us back for another one for FREE! we got tomoro so im looking forward to that, get to leave the house too wooohooo:rotfl: hoping to get some good piccies of baby, she is 30 weeks now.:T

i dont know how to post photos but i might try and share them, will give me something to do if im still off next week!

    xx

you can only tell if you're anaemic through a blood test and the amount of iron in Pregnacare isn't enough if you are - if you think you might be (ie you're very tired and breathless - although how you tell what's normal pregnancy and what isn't) then you can get spatone (I think it's called) from healthfood shops etc. But best bet is to get a blood test.

Justie, that's why I thought it was a bit OTT as she doesn't want to wait for a blood test before signing me off - if the blood test says I'm fine, then I have something new to worry about - what IS wrong??? :rotfl:

I have some pregnacare but keep forgetting to take it :o

Emma I just wanted to say, you are coming over in your posts as so much more relaxed, it's good to see.

well if it's not anaemia then it's just normal pregnancy fatigue ;) I felt much better on the Pregaday iron tablets anyway even though my iron levels were only very slightly down but as I was so knackered and iron tablets aren't going to do too much harm it was a case of take them and see

    enjoy your 2 weeks off!

Emma hope you are feeling better.

Just been looking up hand foot and mouth disease as there appears to be cases of it at school. My two are not affected but I will have to keep an eye on them.

Off to a pampering evening tonight and we have all been joking that labour will start whilst I am there. It's in aid of the pre school that DD1 goes to, so maybe I should be getting them all to have bets and halve winnings with winner and pre- school for who gets the right day!

    Anyway have a great weekend.
