    Good morning.

I hope that you are all feeling well.

It's my due date today and I'm not feeling optomistic about meeting him or her yet. More twinges last night but obviously they didn't lead to anything. I now wake up and prod my tummy to check that I really am pregnant and that I'm not dreaming.

Hope that you all have a good day. Take care.

if that's been the norm for you then yes that's normal - it's only if it's different that you may need to get it checked out.

dont know if i have quoted correctly, hope so!

anyway, i did end up needing to be checked out - i was very faint yesterday the only way to describe it was feeling sea sick - or as if my drink had been spiked! i vomitted every time i stood up. i was really scared and rang my mum to come round and she rang mwife. i was seeing spots of light and falshes and my face was tingling i felt drunk! i expected my bp to have rocketed up but was fine when mwife checked it, although that was 6 hours later. the ward wouldnt check me over as i have D+V.

so i have been told to "rest" and that i probably have a viral infection. i still feel dizzy today i go light headed at random times.
i was boasting to a very swollen and fed up pregnant friend how my pregnancy had been troube free (cept some hiccups very ealry on) on weds and then thurs i felt like the walls were closing in on me. :o
so maybe i will have to start mat leave evn earlier as i am now on the sick for two days. im having a year out though so dont suppose it matters too much when it begins.

i will be able to keep up with all the posts on here theres so many posters now i lose track!

sorry you're feeling so ill emma - it sounds like you need to do nothing and have someone wait on you hand and foot ;) Keep plenty of fluids going in and try to eat something bland if you can.

Jen I'm sure I'll feel the same when I get to my due date - waiting has got to be one of the worst things if someone could tell me exactly what day my baby will be born it'd be so much easier even if it's 2 weeks 'late'.

Poor poor Emma! I hope you get better soon. I've felt dizzy in this pregnancy (never before) but only when I get too tired, so easily fixed. How scared you must have been.

I got paranoid last night by browsing common pregnancy ailments on the web - never again. Very sure I have anaemia

Hope you feel better soon, Emma. Don't worry about work - it's far more important to look after yourself and your baby at this moment in time.

    Take care. xx

Hope you feel better soon emma_b :) And jen, really hope all those twinges will lead to something (cute and cuddly) very very soon! :)

Thanks for the tip about the baby mag, jo_b - it's definitely a good investment with so many freebies. :T I felt like such a contortionist when I was trying to paint my toenails the other day, so methinks I'll go for a freebie pedicure! :j

And speaking of freebies, what's the deal with the SMA club? I had a huge calendar thingie from them the other day, but was expecting the towel/bib/spoon pack that everyone was talking about? Have I managed to sign up for the wrong thing, or do the good freebies turn up later?

Emma sorry you're feeling rotten, keep up your fluids and rest as much as you can, no point in over doing it, you'll just make yourself worse.

    Question:
When did your first babies start engaging?. I had my 34 week MW check last week and was told I'm 1/5 engaged, I'm sure baby has dropped more in the last few days as I need a bra again as prior to this my boobs had been resting on my bump and I've got a gap again now.

My book has said that first babies don't usually start engaging until 2 to 4 weeks before labour starts, does this mean I'm going to go early??
