Congratulations Douggie - Glad everything was ok in the end... Looking forward to seeing some pictures. Have got appointment at the Labour ward tomorrow when they might give me a date for induction - I'm due on Saturday but due to high BP and protein I dont think they will let me go overdue. Am starting to panic a bit now as I know whats coming:eek:19.6.10 Weight loss 6lb0

Hi guys,
Congratulations Dougggie and Edwyn:T !!
I'm only in the early stages of pregnancy but I'm interested to find out more re natural childbirth ect. I had a few op's as a child and have a phobia of surgery having to have C section. I know maybe that I will have to however, I have seen some books on amazon that claims to increase your chances of having natural childbirth through preperation during pregnancy ie yoga, breathing exercises, reflexology and nutrition. Can anyone recommend a good book on this subject? Thanks xx
I did a hypnobirthing course in Nov which worked wonders for my relaxation and kept my blood pressure under control up until i hit 40+2 and all talk of induction began. I firmly believe it would have worked for natural childbirth if i hadn't been so overdue and practically bullied into being induced.
Thanks to everyone for the congrats!0 -
Thanks Douggie,
Could you please give me more info on this course? I've seen some hypnotherapy DVD's that you can order on the internet.
Hope you're both well. Take care xx0 -

Gives links to practicioners in your area. I think you can get the book/cd separately on Amazon but if you can afford the course it's well worth it (just pricey!). This is also known as the Mongan method.
The other hypno method which is the one you may have spotted the cds for is Natal hypnotherapy. Didn't use this myself so can't comment.

hi
I bled for about 3 weeks and it was new blood. In fact, the 7 week scan picture I have clearly shows the bleeding and it was right next to the baby.
I know how it feels waiting for the scan. It tears you apart. You don't know what to think - whether to prepare for the worst or hope for the best. I had to wait a week and every day felt like a month.
I've never had such a thing before (and this is my fourth child) but nothing prepares you if things start to go wrong. Thankfully my bleeding stopped at 7.5 weeks and I've had no problems since.
Please let us know how you get on. xx0 -

Trying to get it my older 2, age 9 and 11, to understand that i need them to pick up after themselves and help me a bit - but they don't seem to understand:mad: . Haven't been able to sit and relax at all since baby was born which is really frustrating - the house constantly looks messy and grubby - i know everyone says leave the housework, but i can't! School hols this week too so that is making everything worse. To anyone having their first baby - appreciate how easy it is! Anyway, hope your kids are better trained than mine and that your partner helps out. My OH has been slightly better than i thought he would be, but is a bit selective as to which jobs/tasks he does.
Hope everyone else is well - well done with keeping the list up to date,

What is your washing like with 4? I'm frightened of mine as it is and #4 isn't here yet!!!! It feels like my washing machine is constantly on the go.
Congrats Dougggie.
And congrats to MrsY on your news! x0 -
Hi scan is tomorrow morning and i am absolutely bricking it!! I am still bleeding so it has been 4 weeks now but have not had any pain and still feel pregnant so am very hopeful. My partner has been great and has done all the housework and insisted I rest.0

the washing is horrendous - particularly as the kids are off. i start to think that i am getting on top of it and then i look and the baskets are overflowing again. had some help from mum and sister but even so we seem to have clothes everywhere.now mum of 4!!!0 -
Don't know the bump flavour yet, having a suprise. Was quite active up till about 3 weeks ago, then got tired and lazy. This flu the last few days hasn't really helped matters, am dying to get out and about when I feel better. Just feel miserable at the moment!
Gosh Jo, you sound like me, I have a terrible 'cold' at the moment, I'm not allowed to call it flu because apparently that means (according to my OH) the sun doesn't rise or the world doesn't turn and you can't possibly do anything until you've laid down for a fortnight. I'm feeling kind of tired and lazy too, chin up, it will be over soon and you'll feel a bit better. Hugs to you:A :
