  • Hi Bun - it's true, you forget what feeling normal is like don't you? I suppose you are just starting to get back to normal, with all the postnatal bleeding and uterus going back to the size it was and things. Not looking forward to all that but will be great to get my body back - although god knows what state it will be in. As this is definitely my last child i am determined to get into shape and not be a big fat blob.

Hi HStef81 - congrats and welcome.

Can't believe how long the list is now - hope everyone on it will find this thread as useful as i have

I was just wondering if someone here can help me. I am planning on going on holiday to the Caribbean at the end of May/start of June when I will be almost 5 months pregnant. Is this okay? Do I have to get special insurance? Do I have to inform the airline etc.?

Also, at what point, if you are having twins, does it come up on a scan? I had a scan when I was probably only 6 weeks and there was one egg shaped thing. Could it split after this?

EDIT: One more question. My sil says that there is one day in early pregnancy that I will feel really faint and ill and this is the day the baby's heart starts beating. Is this true? Going for my next scan on Friday when I will be 8/9 weeks gone and just wondered if we will hear anything?

Hi it is o.k but you need to inform your insurance company. You should tell the airline, but i think the cut off is 28 weeks? to fly without a doctors note or with.Enjoy yourself!Sorry, can't help with the scanning question.

Hi, i had several days at the begining when i was very light headed, and almost passed out one night. so it lasted more then one day. doubt its to do with baby's heart beating though. this was also when i had bad period like pains, and when i first thought somethings not quite right! :o (ie these arent normal period pains, then found out i was pregnant!)

  • hi everyone, hope you are all doing well this morning. welcome to slscarborough. my little boy is still refusing to budge - the sweep doesn't seem to have done any good so far, but i am still hoping.

pollyanna - not sure about the heartbeat thing, sounds a bit unlikely to me though. A holiday in the carribean sounds lovely.

hello new additions to the "lets go overdue" thread :j

Anyone heard from mandy2383 lately, hope she's had good news!

Am doing my best to relax today as despite relexology yesterday morning to help things along, went to my antenatal checkup and found my bp was 150/100, so had to go along to the labour ward day assessment unit for a few hours monitoring. Bloods and baby were fine (perfectly happy was how the baby was described looking at the heart beat printout!) and my bp was back to normal within a couple of hours. Still, it freaked me out a bit as i can only assume it was the phone call with my parents just beforehand that made it shoot up (plans my dad has for diy when they come to visit after the birth  )

Am only 3 days past my EDD, so preparing for a septemberbaby style sit in from my LO... have advised parents in law not to bother calling as they've been winding me up with 24 hourly checkups, and will be taking the phone off the hook to avoid more raised bp :rotfl:

Hope things move for you soon 3kids!

But won't s/he be worth it in the end! :D I kept telling DH that baby loved me so much that she didn't want to let go :rotfl:.

I have never heard of that before and I read ALOT of books and magazines (and preg forum posts!). Maybe you could ask your MW? I didn't acually hear my baby's heartbeat until around 16 weeks which was checked by my MW not the sonographer but it was happily beating away at 9.5 weeks at my scan. HTH!

Good luck and labour vibes to all nearly/over due :T
