MSE pregnancy club II

Hi,I've only ever seen my consultant when I go overdue.Other than than just a load of useless representatives in their team.I really hate going to the hospital too.Has anyone actually been weighed?They just asked me what I weigh and have never actually weighed me themselves.I just find the whole thing a complete waste of time.

Miss B, You did well to run around the hospital as I'm 30 weeks and tried to run for the bus today-It was pathetic,lol!

samantham06 - How did your appointment go? Did you get the scan? I hope it was just the position of baby and that he is weighing up nice n big Ive seen women with teeny bumps delivering 9lb'rs so hopefully it will be one of those times! Have they given you any further advice? Thinking of you anyways cos i know how hard it is x

dla can be claimed if the doctors confirm theres an illness u can claim for.

in our case since its "probable" that our daughter has an illness we cant claim not that i mind because it doesnt effect her right now.the illness has to in someway hinder thier "normal life" i know a person that claimed for her sons severe exzma.

I saw my consultant at 12 weeks then again on monday (34 +2) I thought this would be the last appointment but I need to see him again on Monday because of my high blood pressure and trace of protein! I had the same problems with DD (14 years ago) so wasnt really surprised although BP didnt start to rise until 37 weeks with her (I kept all my pregnancy notes and have been comparing them):p

traveller - i was only ever weighed at my first appointment and haven't been weighed or asked my weight since. i do weight myself at home though and have gone from 9 stone 8 to 11 stone 13. When i was pregnant with my eldest i weighed 7 stone 7 before pregnancy - so i am carrying more weight in the first place this time. Maybe i will have to diet after this baby.

Warburton 100 - when are you due? If it is July then we need to slot you in further up the list. can't believe the list is so long now.

Been to midwife today - i have begun itching at night and am a bit concerned. She seemed to think that it is probably just because my skin is drying out but i am not convinced - it has been keeping me awake (amongst other things) and of course i went and googled itching skin in pregnancy and have diagnosed myself with awful things! Will ring in her later in the week if it doesn't improve i think. Got an overdue appointment which i am really hoping not to keep.

had a lovely day and night out yesterday on a spa break with the other girls from our team at work. They didn't do special preggers packages, but had an aromatherapy facial and pedicure, most of which was covered by the girls as my birthday present since they didn't know what else to get me at the start of the month!
Unfortunately had a crap night's sleep, not due to the strange hotel bed as i half expected, but due to junior deciding to turn into mike tyson in the middle of the night and try to punch his way out of my stomach. Gave up sleeping at 3.45 and read magazine for an hour or so until he calmed down enough to let me doze off again!!! Also had a dodgy tummy, which is leading me to think i might be getting ready for things to happen!

Saw m/w today for my 38+2 appt, now measuring 40 wks :eek: and that seems to approximate 9lb1 according to my chart. Head is 2/5 engaged and been feeling ropey since this afternoon. Have put a lavender heat pack round my lower bump where i'm all achey, but it is just aches, no sign of contractions yet.

He'll either have to arrive before monday or after weds next week as we're having the road outside resurfaced for 3 days, which will not be good if the midwives can't find anywhere to park outside for the home birth :mad:
