Maternity bras - thanks Bun. I have only bought two support bras and they have lasted me - i don't think my boobs have grown at all! That's 5 people today who have told me that my bump isn't very big. Really wish that my midwife would let me have another scan, but i have asked and she said that the hospital won't pay for another scan.
Cascoob - hope you aren't kept waiting too long.now mum of 4!!!0 -
3Kids - Maybe your little one is lying in such a way that it gives the illusion of being smaller? And anyway what do all these people know really - are they trained Midwifes? I think not! If you feel ok with the size then there's no worries.
Cazscoob - Good luck to you. I hope things go smoothly for you.
Samlamb - I don't know if there is a specific thread about good buys. There's one about reusable nappies though. Asda and Tesco have got sales on at the moment though so you might do well looking there.
JPWhittle - congratulations. I hope all goes incredibly smoothly for you.
Choc - I hope that things calm down for you and that you don't need to have too much extra hospital time than necessary.
RJH - I tried one of those wedge things and it's good if you're lying on just one side. You need to keep moving it whenever you change sides though. Also the one I had was really long which meant that if I turned towards my man then it got in the way. The one I was using was lent to me and certainly wasn't fit for purpose. I was also told that a pillow should do the trick just as well.
Good news for me today. We just got our new second hand washing machine and it's great. We haven't had a washing machine in this house at all and it's really exciting. It's digital and it hardly makes a noise. I'm so happy about it as we did have one that recently got plumbed in and didn't work. The landlord even fitted a new kitchen so there was space and then it didn't work. It came at a time when everything was going wrong and we had no money and that really tipped me over the edge of feeling all doom and gloom. Luckily Mum n Dad offered to buy it for us and saved the day. Now things are at last picking up! Woohoo. And just in time too. Now we just need to wait for the cooker (that also died) to be plumbed in. At least all these things went wrong before the babe came and not after eh?
Anyway - good vibes to anyone who needs it.xBaby Ember

Hi all, i've just added myself to the EDD list. I'm 16 wks pregnant today. Not actually a newbie to MSE but I've registered under a new user name. This will be my third baby, I have a little girl of 6 and a boy of 3. Have been checking in on this thread for the past few weeks. Counting down to my 20 wk scan now as we want to know the baby's sex this time (didn't know before the other two were born)! Good luck to everyone on the list...

Happy Pregnancy sunday_girl.
3 Kids - I was 34 cm I think at 34 weeks. Surely if your midwife says that there's nothing wrong then you're ok. Some people tell me that I look like I'm going to have a big baby and others say what a small bump for 35 weeks. I just tell them that I'm right on track with my measurements that the midwife has taken. Don't let yourself get too worried about it. xBaby Ember

I got a wedge pillow for about £4 in Wilkos, but that was ages ago ... It was well worth it because I've used it every time the boys have a cold to prop up their mattress (apparently you're not supposed to put anything like a pillow etc under a baby as it raises their temperature and thus greater risk of cot death, etc.) but I use it underneath their mattress to raise it up to make it easier for them to breath at night. They now ask for the 'stunt pillow' if either of them are poorly ...That's Numberwang!0

Will let you know on Tues!
I was measuring about 30 wks at 28 wks, then 32 wks at 32 wks, so will have to see where i fall at 34. I suspect i've sprouted a bit again in the last couple of days though, but I've no idea what's normal for a first sproglet.
The midwife said it wasn't overly reliable as it all depends on the amount of fluid so if there's a lot of fluid you'll measure big and vice versa. Doesn't help you, but as long as you're still getting plenty of kicks/movement all should be fine shouldn't it?
