Just thought I'd pop on here to see how everyone's doing, and am shocked to discover I'm 8th on the list!
I should be 9th though as I've got my due date down as 12th Jan when it's actually 13th...
Am getting fed up now of waiting for baby to come, have been frantically cleaning the house from top to bottom trying to prepare for his arrival and drinking loads of raspberry leaf tea to try and 'ripen my cervix' - dunno if it actually works, but tastes pretty nice.
My birthing ball arrived this morning too, and I wish I'd got one earlier, it's soooo comfy.
Have any of the new mummies got any tips that actually worked to get their babes moving?

Hello to everyone. I haven't been on for ages and needing to have a moan and get some ideas about feeling like poop.
I've got 8 weeks left now and I've come down with a nasty burning throat and chest thing, I had it for the last 4 days and now its gone onto my chest and is a nasty cough. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to alleviate the pain or symptoms please? I've been taking paracetamol but it doesn't touch the sides, doing inhalations with lavender and tea tree, drinking lots of honey lemon and ginger tea, and lots of fluids and eating my weight in clementines and spinach. Do you have any other pointers that might help me please? The irony is I haven't been ill for years until getting pregnant!
On the good side I've been sofa ridden and watched about 16 dvds! So at least I'm slightly more film educated than I was before.
Also congratulations to all you new mummies and daddies out there. At 8 weeks all that giving birth stuff suddenly becomes more real!!!
Anyway - if you have any good tips then I'd certainly appreciate them. Thanks. xxxBaby Ember

Sorry you're feeling ill, miss_be. I haven't got any tips - it sounds like you're doing all the healthy stuff already.
Went to see midwife yesterday as have had rotten headaches all over Christmas. She said blood pressure is creeping up and hands and feet are swelled but nothing to worry about just at the moment. She felt baby and said he's definitely breech. She said is he still is on thursday when I have my next appointment she will make a scan appointment to see what's happening and we will have to choose between manually turning him, going ahead with normal birth in breech postion (my least fave option - it was hard enough with babies the right way round!) or elective cs.
Anyone ever had there baby turned around manually? What's it like and did it work?0 -
Hi All,
It's been quite on here today.
Well, am still here and still pregnant. 4 days over now. Getting really frustrated. I get a couple of strong crampy type contraction feelings, then they die away and it's nothing. Trouble is every time I feel some I get my hopes up thinking this might be it!
Feel like I have done my time now and want to meet my baby. Also am sooo achy now and can't get comfortable no matter what I do. Oh, will this ever be over!!
Becky - my due date buddy, how are you doing? Any signs of your little one turning up yet? Maybe there was something unlucky about being due on Christmas Day!Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -

oh Flis it's just the same here! I've been having contractions, but at only one an hour, on and off! at this rate I'll still be in labour in February!
my due date depends on who you talk to anyway - one midwife let me have an extra couple of days as my cycle is often over 28 days (that made it Boxing Day), the other one insists on 28 days (that made it Christmas Eve), the first scan said Christmas Day! whichever date you pick I'm late now though!
mumzyof2 I'm sorry to hear you lost your baby. I hope you don't have to try for too long this time0 -
BumpyBecky and Flis21 I hope your little bundles arrive soon!! Keep poking and proding them just to make sure they know it's time to come out
Hope all goes well.0 -
Sending out labour vibes to all the fed up overdue ladies. Here;s hoping you don't have to wait much longer.
I am up again in the middle of the bloody night. Went out to bingo with some friends and my OH and they are all drunk and I went up to bed and left them too it about 1am. They skulked up to bed/passed out 2ish and I was still wide awake and reading. Now they are all sleeping soundly (and snoring I might add!) and I am lying on the sofa completely awake and fed up. There is nothing on telly and I don't know how many more nights of this non sleep I can do. I have officially tried everything from getting up early to napping in afetrnoon to lavendar smells and baths and hot chocolate. Nothing works. It's not just that I can't get comfy it's as if my brain is just not letting me sleep. I have packed all bags etc and got as much ready as I can so it's not like I am leaving unfinished things that are praying on my mind. GRRRRR. Sorry about the moan about no sleep (again). I just can't take much more. And here's me wanting to go overdue!!0 -
Oh and does anyone know if you can get 'morning' sickness back towards the end? Been feeling very ropey on and off the last couple of days and feels a bit like the start of my sickness all those weeks ago.0
