Hope everybody had a good Crimbo.

Sugarcubed - Congratulations - Jenna is gorgeous. Lovely name too!

Cheeky Little Monkey - if you think you are preggers I'd stop poking around at your cervix and get the doctor to check you out just in case. I seem to recall it is only lower when you ovulate, so it may be at the normal height for most of the time, and possibly when you're pregnant too, so you may not notice a difference.

3 kids - I believe the whole measuring thing is highly inaccurate from what I've read so if she had any real concerns health-wise then I'm sure your mw would have got it checked out sooner than in 3 weeks time. If you're worried make another appointment just to check, as she should know by now not to chuck in random things to worry you further. If the growth is regular they will probably not worry, and if it isn't they'll monitor you. I was told this with my ds and that it wasn't anything to worry about - he was term and 5lb 2oz, but as small babies run in the family and his growth was regular they were happy with this.

Good luck to anybody else whose babies should make an appearance soon!

I hope no one else has to go through the pain that I did! :eek:
As I said on Sunday I got sent home after being told that all the blood was probably from a show & that I was 1cm dilated & having contractions but to go home & see it through as long as I could.
So off I went,although uncomfortable I seemed to be managing ok. This all changed by about 8pm!
Having done all the thing's they advised I was in agony,no amount of lying in the bath or tens machine was helping. After 2 phone call's to the labour ward I was advised to go in.
Well I got there & about 10 mins later a huge gush of water soaked the bed. I was examined & told that I was only at 2 cm dilated!:eek: They suspected from having a good feel that baby was back to back & that's why I was only at 2cm after 12hrs & regular contractions.
So,they decided to send me up to the observaton ward after a few hours & see how I went on overnight. I was given codine & paracetamol & then a sleeping tablet. (very funny ooh your tired & then you're wide awake because of the contracton!)
Managed a bit of broken sleep from 2am - 5.30am then just so much pain in my lower back again! I could not sit or lie on my back,only comfortable when I was on my side. (the tens was a bit of a help!)
Anyway i plodded on through the day still having regular contractions,as you can imagine I was getting pretty tired by now as i'd been up for 36 hours.
Hubby was with me & he was a great help!
At 7pm a midwife came & said that she didnt want to worry us but the police had been on the phone as one of the neighbours had reported our house alarm kept going off!:eek: They had been round & couldnt find any sign of a break in or anything but the neighbour had told them that I was heavily pregnant so they thought best to ring the ward & just check if we were there! (not what you need at all!) So hubby shot off to make sure all was ok.
An hour later the contractions are thick & fast! I ring hubby & tell him he needs to get back now! Poor bloke was shattered!
When he arrives i'm just been taken down to delivery,examined & guess what...3-4 cms!!! What!!! Is that it!!!???? I was seriously not a happy bunny! :mad:
Put on a monitor & drip to induce me which I was on for ruddy hours on the max as they kept increasing it. By this stage the back pain was so bad I had to have morphine & then when that wasnt touching me I had an epidural ( i'd done gas & air but my mouth was that dry already I just couldnt bear it)
Epidurals are fab!! Pain free & able to sleep for a bit! :T
Anyway by now we are well into Christmas Day I was re examined and yes you guessed it i'm still only 5-6 cms after 54 hours of labour! Decision made for me...off you go for an emergency c section as baby is not moving & labour will not progress. Huge top up of drugs & 20 minutes later at 14.41 baby Ruby Isabelle entered the world weighing 6lb 6oz! :T
55 hours of labour which was hell! But oh so worth it in the end!
I got out of hospital today & I felt ok then I now feel shocking! Scar is ok it's the bruising that's appeared that's killing me. Glad to be home anyway.
I could go on forever as some of the things that i was saying to my hubby were hilarious but i'll fill you in on them later. will also post pic tomorrow!

Congrats Becky_sleaf - have had a back to back one myself but can't believe it took so long! Hope you are feeling ok soon,and well done to hubby for staying the distance too.

Thanks Bun. I don't think I'm pregnant, but I've a friend with no internet access who can't be 100% sure.

Hopefully I'll be pregnant this time 7 or 8 months planned, or before if it so happens to happen (by accident!!), not sure whether I'd go for the cervix checking though!

Becky_Sleaf, 55 hours then a c-section, ouch! And yet you say worth it all! Congrats!!

Sorry, have put myself back at the top of the due list, as their is still no sign of my little one moving. I am booked for a membrane sweep on Monday morning (don't think I want to know what it involves, doesn't sound pleasant!) and if that doesn't work they are going to induce me next Friday.

I can't believe I could be pregnant for another week yet, seems ridiculous. I feel about the size of a house and can't get comfortable and am just really impatient to have my baby now. My hubby wants me to go for the first new year baby!!

Beckysleaf congratulations! 55 hours is quite a feat you must be exhausted!!! Well done though!!

fils21 - sorry the little one is comfy where s/he is!! Time to start all the hot baths/hot curries/hot sex! Hope things move naturally for you so you can avoid the interventions. Keep us posted!
