Can't believe I am still 11 down the list! Am 38+3 and feel enormous and soooo frustrated. I really want baby to turn up. Had nesting and a show on Tuesday, so thought things were going to get started, but so far nothing. Am getting lots of twinges and odd pains, but no contractions.

Have had a really bad headache for last couple of days, so might go down health centre and get my blood pressure taken today. Although it could just be because I am really tired and am having trouble sleeping.

I never thought I would get to the stage when I was looking forward to labour, but really want it now! Am drinking that rasperry leaf tea and having hot baths every day, but so far nothing (we even tried s-e-x on Wednesday night, but that didn't help either!).

Sorry, just a bit of a moan really.

Good luck to everyone else due this month.

  • Poor you! Not really anything I can say to help, but fingers crossed baby comes soon.

scruffy - no probably not to begin with as DD had terrible blistering baby excema so will watch for signs of that first. I do have a moses basket this time but DS slept in his carrycot when he was born 13 years ago. purlegirluk gave a good answer though - check yur instruction booklet.

Purplegirluk - hope the baby is more co-operative today!

Obviously this is the week for rogue carbon monoxide alarms as that's what woke me at 5.45 today. I think it just needed new batteries though as it was an intermittant rather than constant beep and it has shut up now the batteries have been changed. Typical that it started beeping 15 mins afer OH went to work though, so it was me who had to darg ladders out and find batteries. Still, last time it decided it needed batteries it was about 2am - never needs them during the day.

My back is still sore today but with aches rather than sharp pains. The house has somehow become a tip so will need to get sorted but in a slow ambling fashion.
  • Aww, Poppy and I are no longer on the The List!

How the time has flown since I added myself on way back in March!

Hope you ladies are well, just feeding Poppy and checking up on you all :D.

  • I have slept now for 2 nights running and it feels amazing!!! Had a loose bowel though which I am not happy about as it comes with nasty pains. OH and sis have got it too so must be a bug. Knew everything wasn't allowed to be hunky dory!!!

How is everyone else getting on?? Managing to get any sleep??
  • Hello all,

We had our second 4d scan today at 9am!!! We left home at 8 and I had to eat a mars bar on the way, not the best breakfast ever. Baby Georgie is STILL sitting in this yoga position with his bum down and his legs up infront of his face. The sonographer managed to move him a bit and he was more awake this time which was nice. The pictures we got are full of arms and legs and hand and feet, bless him. It is hard to be dissapoionted as if he is happy like that then who are we to complain! As the pictures don't give a clear view of his face they knocked the price down to £85 and that has included three goes on the 4d machine!! I am bursting to watch the dvd but am waiting for OH to come home.

Hope everyone is feeling well today.

Had my 20 week scan today and everything was looking perfect! :j

Finally feel I can relax a bit now as everything seems to be progressing normally. Haveing a lovely pregnancy really - no sickness or nasties. The only thing irritqating me at the mo is lack of slepp due to carpal tunnel syndrome - it affects many pregnant women badly apparently. Wake up loads of times in the night feeling like my hands and arms are on fire. Horrid!

Very nice to see other ladies stories about what is happening in their pregnancies.

  • JOJOB - I suffered with carpel tunnel in my last pregnancy and after 2 weeks of sleepless nights went to see my dr. She sent me to get some splints from my hospital and after getting used to wearing them they did the trick. After my baby was born the carpal tunnel went almost straight away. I have had this again since whilst not being pregnant, and in this pregnancy it has actually eased, although i get it occasionally and hang my arm out of the bed which eases the discomfort. Definitely see your doctor.

Really jealous of you all having 4d scans, really, really can't afford one at the mo.
    now mum of 4!!!

I can't afford the fancy scans either love. At the moment i can't even affford to buy babygros or dummies never mind buggies or slings! Luckily I have my flat up for sale so should be able to afford stuff once the sale has gone through. In the meantime I am panickin a bit tho.

Will look into the splint thing. Can't wear them during the day as i have a job massaging and also in a coffeeshop (both of which will be making the condition worse no doubt), but maybe wearing them at night will help. Cheers.

As I now only have 11 days left until my induction date I thought I better start getting things organized!! Have been frantically washing clothes and bedding etc over the past few days.
I have had 2 bad nights sleep, well not really I sleep from the time I go to bed until around 4am. So I can't really complain at least I'm getting some sleep. I just lie in bed once awake though coz if I were to get up the dog would hear me and want to go out for a walk!!

JoJo sorry to hear ur in a bit of pain with ur carpel tunnel hopefully a visit to the GP will sort it out.

It's weird how our bodies get random things wrong during pregnancy but whenever babe is out they magically dissappear. The condition I have will dissappear whenever babe is born!! It bewilders me  But then again starnge things bewilder me!! Like why a cow is called a cow? Who named it and why?? Ok I guess I'll shut up now!! I read books like Why do penguins feet not freeze!!! Says alot about me!!
