  • As soon as i woke up this morning i could feel it didnt feel right and was a bit shocked to be honest.

OH wants me to call midwife - he thinks that because i have had such a hard pregnancy that the birth will be easy and i wont even know im in labour - if only!!
 I love my gorgeous little girl
  • Phone your midwife if you are really concerned but it just sounds like pressure from the babies head. I think I would freak out too if I felt it!

  • Ok I have 2 questions I just want some other peoples views!!

    1st
Are you going to use smellies on the baby in the 1st few months i.e baby wash, shampoo etc??
Just that @ antenantal we were advised not to as it can make them more suseptable to being allergic to alot more later in life??????

    2nd
Do you think we could use the carrycot part of the pushchair instead of a moses basket, don't plan on baby being in our room for long?

    TIA

  • First question - No i am not. I will stick to plain water i think for a good while. I have contact allergies and it's awful I can't use a lot of stuff (i actually do use baby stuff for me!) and it's annoying so anything I can do to help protect baby from anything like that I will try.

Second question - I dunno. My OH suggested it for us and I squeaked as I wanted a moses basket but I guess in theory you could do. I suppose its no different really but then again i am blind leading blind as I have no idea!

Sorry am not much more help. You have now sneaked in before me on the list so I am entitled to be grumpy :D
  • ella-ella-ella - not sure if it is the same as what i have got but apparently i am very er... congested down below. I have varicose veins either side which make it seem bulgy but everything is a bit swollen - apparently quite normal as i have seen two doctors about it. I am 29 weeks by the way.

poor chocoholic - hope you are feeling OK now.

Sounds like we are all feeling a bit fed up and sore and tired and.... (on and on). What a good job we have this site to have a little moan on - my OH is sick of my moaning.

Think i will probably use some smellies on baby - shampoo as i love the smell! But depends on what advice i am given.

I have bought a moses basket as i am not having a pram with carrycot this time round - but i am quite sure a carrycot top will do just fine for baby to sleep in. I wouldn't bother with a moses basket but i want something flat for baby to sleep in downstairs and in our room for a while.
    now mum of 4!!!
  • Shelvis so sorry I have jumped the Q I'm just very impatient lol

  • 1. I would say use nothing but water for the first month or so. They don't get dirty enough to need soap and their skin is so sensitive that it can cause allergies.

    2. I would say using the carry cot is fine, its what mothers have done for years, my mum did it with me. Saying that I think it is not suggested these days due to the material the cots are made of. It will tell you how long the baby can stay in the carry cot on the instruction booklet that comes with it. Its to do with the breathability of the material I think.
