Congrats Fairy Elephant, you must be sooo pleased.

Well, I am 37+1 now, would really love it if baby would put in an appearance before Christmas, but have a horrid feeling he won't!!

Have done and wrapped all my Christmas shopping, written and sent the cards and put the tree up. We are just putting the finishing touches to the nursery, which should be done by this weekend. Now there is not much left to do I am getting impatient!! Hubby keeps saying enjoy this time to sit around and watch telly / chat with friends as there won't be much time for that after, but I feel quite listless.

My blood pressure was a bit up on Monday at my appointment, so am not allowed to rush around doing too much, but that is making time go even more slowly.

Baby is apparently 3/5ths engaged now tho, which has really helped ease my heartburn a bit and I don't seem to get so breathless going up the stairs now.

Anyway, never mind. We are nearly there now. Only 13th from the top of the list, assuming that mickeyme, ab7167 and tammyfshr haven't had theirs yet.

Haven't been on for a while so...

:j Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies and also to those who have joined the list:T

I'm finally ready for baby to arrive - just Xmas to sort out now - can't believe how disorganised I've been this time round:rolleyes:

Am so sore and achy, and fed up with myself for complaining about being sore and achy! Been having loads of BH which I never had with my first 2 so hoping this birth will be quicker.

Labour vibes to those in need or who want them (keeping some back for me though:rotfl: )

That is my hope exactly. I didn't have BH with No1 and 2 but have had loads this time. I am convincing myself it is making my uturus super strong to push the baby out quickly!

Haven't been on much here myself as site seems to have been so slow...or is that just me?

Got a midwife appointment today. Going to ask about giving birth in the midwifery led centre...if I rememebr as I plan to ask questions then they go out of my mind when I get there!

Congratualtions fairy_elephant. great news after all this time. Can't believe August babies are appearing already - I'll nearly have to go back to work by then :(

I just found out that our friend got pregnant!!!! She had a miscarriage at 4.5 months June 2006 and couldn't get pregnant since, so this is great news!!!! She is 2 months pregnant how. I am so glad for them!!! I really hope everything goes well this time.

I wish I got pregnant soon!!!! Then our babies can grow up playing together!

I had great pregnancies first two times round, but really struggled third time. I was just sore and achy for ages, and also had tonnes of BH, which I don't recall noticing with previous pgs.

With my third labour, I shaved off 35 mins (was 2h25m), whilst labour 2 was 3 hours and labour 1 was 22 hours, so perhaps they do make labours quicker. Unfortunately I think the pain stays the same ...:rotfl:

Lol, losing 25 minutes doesn't really help me - my labours were 4 days and 32 hours so I don't think I'd notice 25 minutes less! Uness it works percentage wise?? :rotfl:

    Bah!

Well, I'm still pregnant - 8 days overdue now, and starting to get a bit hacked off with feeling like a whale. Fortunatley I still have loads of energy, so have been decorating, cutting the garden hedge and doing christmas cards, presents, tree etc.

Have been booked for an induction next Monday, so one way or another it will all be over soon :-)

Had a sweep yesterday, apparently I am 3cm dilated already, cervix completely soft, baby's head just starting to poke through - MW was adamant that I would go into labour after the sweep - but nothing doing. Some more painful BH contractions, but nothing intense enought to qualify as a "real" contraction yet, I don't think. But this is first baby, so for all I know I'm in labour and don't know it yet!

So next step is the acupuncture guy this evening. OH insisiting that it is a waste of money, but I really do not want to be induced, as I want to go to the midwife led centre rather than the big hospital. So anything that might help :-)

Then another sweep on Friday if baby is still clinging on...

Why won't he move? I had the earliest EDD in my ante natal class, and two of them have already had their babies, I want mine to come! 2 girls so far, so hopefully this one will be a boy to even the number up a bit :-)

    Yours grumpily

  • *cries* I need some sleep. I don't know what to do I just am desperate to sleep at night.

I have had the most awful night. I went to bed about 11 and just lied there and couldn't sleep. I got up at 12 and watched TV for while. I tried to go back up about 1:45am to see if it would help. Nope. I just couldn't sleep. It's not because I can't get comfortable it's just because I simply couldn't sleep. In the end I started to get stressed out about it at about 2:45am and just burst into tears. I was shattered and just couldn't sleep and couldn't cope anymore.

My OH was amazing. He woke up and he wasn't cross he just cuddled me and said I was amazing and building a little boy is a difficult job and I am bound to get ups and downs and that he thought I was doing amazingly well on it. Bless him. He also fetched me a glass of water and then gave me a foot massage to try and relax me. I was feeling a bit hot and het up so he put the fan on for me and then just held my hand and talked to me for about an hour telling me nice stories about going on holiday and things. It didn't matter what he was saying he was just trying to calm me down because by then I was ready to be peeled off the ceiling I was so annoyed I couldn't sleep. He was so very sweet I am so lucky. He is going to be an excellent daddy.

But I can't keep going through nights like that because I am exhausted and it affects all day.
Plus my bump now has gone low. It was coming out straight under my boobs before but now its like I go in under my boobs again!! Everyone keeps saydin 'he is on his way out' but I still have 5 weeks to go!! Are they right?? Should I step up packing my hospital stuff?
