Have been checking for news (even during the Jungle!!)[/quote]
Now THAT'S dedication for you! :rotfl:
Thanks, Guys! Have just been in tears reading the all the Congrats!:T
We came home last night, (I was determined to gat the hang of breast-feeding in order to come home!).:A
After leaving for the hospital at 9ish on the 28/11/07, when contractions were 5 mins apart, (hospital being 1/2 hr away from home), we arrived, internal exam (I won't ever feer a smear test again!:o ) showed that I was only 2-3cm dialated.
Cue aromatherapy bath at hosital, to avoid going home again, I was then given a bed for a few hours on the post/pre natal ward (with nothing but my TENS machine), then ANOTHER aromatherapy bath.....
This was until about 5 ish, when I was taken back downstairs to the delivery suite, and the WONDERFUL Entonox!:D
My OH was a God-send - he put on the classical CD I wanted, passed me water, lip-balm and waterspray between contractions, and even avoided passing out when this developed!;)
The next few hours passed in a contraction/Entonox haze.....:rotfl: the Midwives were wonderful (bringing OH a coffee every now and again, and explaining everything really well. I also, managed to bang on about MSE, and our Pregancy thread club too....might even have converted the M/W!!!)
Then, after some pushing, and a bit of grunting, (but I'm proud to say no swearing!:D ) our beautiful daughter was born! In less than 24 hours, AND early!:D
TMI time - I have a little tear, but asked that no stitches were used ("down there" was a lil' sore...plus after examination, stitches weren't considered vital!)
Right, I think I've rambled on enough for now! Plus I have the feeling my new daughter would like another feed.....
But I recomend Entonox - and the TENS machine (which Hubby is just returning to Boots... ), but it does dry out lips and mouth - so buy a lip-balm for the occasion!

(Ready for another nap!)
PS will ask Hubby to put a piccy on here when he gets back...I don't know how to!:o
Good vibes and loveliness to everybody!

He has to work when you're in labour or just when your stitch is being taken out? Either way, I would want my OH there tbh.
I can't believe he's being made to work, there's more important things in life! We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi ladies,
Sorry I havent logged on in ages, but I had by beautiful baby boy on the 20th October!
Labour was interesting as just had gas and air (my choice, but in hindsight!!!!!!)! He came into this world looking so gorgeous and we spent 3 days in hospital because he couldnt feed properly. I had a lot of help from the midwives but he just 'didn't get it', nobody really understood why and I started expressing.
3 weeks in, I realised he had a serious lump in his neck and took him to the doctors, doc told me he didnt really know what the problem was but would refer me to the pedo. I was really distraught in the docs office and was literally begging him to tell me what he thought but he wouldnt commit to anything.
So I went away to do my own research and I think my baby has congenital muscular torticollis. I went back to see the docs and told him so, he agrees with me and I still have to wait for another 2 weeks before we see the pedos.
Would love to hear from other mums of babies that have torticollis. I have already tried some very gentle exercises with him as I am worried about flat head syndrome. The muscle seems better now but he has developed the habbit of wanting to lie on only one side, in only one position and I'm worried!
Apart from that, all is well! x0 -

They thought that Benylin 4 flu would be ok but I had a quick look on the net and some places say not to so I have told him to get a refund. I was just hoping that the pharmacist might know of something but he seemed to be just reading the lables and saying that the ones that don't say don't take them are ok but I am not sure so I will stay clear. Can I ask where you get menthol chrystals from? I have a very blocked nose and steam sounds good to me. Thanks, purplegirl
I got it from the chemist. I went in asking what I could take and that's what they suggested. Brilliant stuff, little pot of crystals and costs about £1.49.

Congrats to all those who have their ickle bundles of joy xx
Had my doppler scan last week, am booked in for more next week along with another growth scan for 7th Dec, have now been told by one of the docs at the hospital that it is a problem with the placenta and bun is'nt getting 100% what he should be.
If my scan on monday shows any more resistance from placenta then i will be admitted to hospital, if not i will go for next one on friday and then they will sort out a plan for me, but we have been told i will almost certainly deliver at 37 weeks.
Starting to worry a little now over the most small things, such as making sure DH and DS will be alright while i'm in hospital, will they be eating ok, will DH make sure he doesn't wash whites with darks/colours, worrying that i have'nt finished christmas shopping yet, never mind sorting the decs out
Daft little things keep swimming around my head, hopefully though i won't be in that longxx
If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.
ROCK IT DON'T STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BE GOOD OR BE GOOD AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's worth the prize is always worth the fight0
