Shelvis i was exactly the same, i hardly got any sleep at the end and would just burst into tears in the middle of the night (my OH was fab too!)
all i can tell you is not to listen to the people who say its preparation for after the baby comes (like the answer to preparing yourself for broken sleep is less sleep! doh)
i have no answer for the next few weeks... sorry to say i suffered right to the bitter end... chronic acid reflux heartburn (which i havent had since the night before Danny was born) sheer uncomfortableness (which stayed with me for a week or two obviously... but then i did have a section and for some reason they wont give you a morphine drip to take home!) good old fashioned "morning" sickness... which stayed with me right to week 39, and worry... my mind was racing at night, worrying about everything, so even if i had finally got comfy (rare) i still couldnt sleep!
all i can tell you is ITS NEARLY OVER!
you will sleep better when baby arrives (i have done with both of mine) yes baby will wake in the night but you will be able to go straight off to sleep once he/she is back in their cot! and you can nap during the day to catch up... 10 minutes snoring your box off can be surprizingly refreshing!
and if your formula feeding.. even better! give daddy a bottle and run off to bed for a few hours,
i know it seems never ending (it certainly did to me) but im here to tell you that it does end, you will be fine, you might hallucinate through lack of sleep... but that can be fun tooyour doing an amazing job under the circumstances...
sadly, the number one cure for sleepless nights in pregnancy.... is delivery!
oh and dont take any notice of people commenting on your bump... they know nothing!
the amount of people who said i was minutes from delivery from about 6 months gone... yeah i was big i get it!!
but im still amazed by people coming up to me now saying that they didnt realise i was pregnant!!!!!!!!!
i was bloody massive!
pack your bag (for your own peace of mind) and just smile and nod when you hear the 20th contradicting comment that day about how your carrying!0 -
Thank you so much for that. Although I don't like to hear of others suffering the same it is reassuring to know that I am not alone. I have progressed from being unable to sleep through heartburn to being unable to sleep for no reason and for some reason that is loads more frustrating!!! I don't *think* i am worried about anything. Certianly nothing was going through my mind but the fact I couldn't sleep!!
Put a days hol in at work to nap on the sofa but am trying hard to stay awake so i can sleep tonight. My mum phoned and woke me at 9:15am and I was having an EXCELLENT dream about being at a party with Declan Donnely and it was JUST getting interesting. Grrrrr.
Thanks again George - we seem to be having similar pregnancies so far. I am prob having planned c-section due a combination of babies size and a road map of previous scars all lover my lower tummy.
I was sooooo close to having a massive glass of baileys last night to try and calm me and help me sleep.0 -
Mmm baileys! My heartburn was driving me up the wall last night and I had run out of Rennies. Spoke to my midwife yesterday and she asked if I would like a membrane sweep next week when I will be exactly 40 weeks. Just need to wait and see what happens before then. Ooh its so close and I'm really excited** Mummy to little Jenna born on 23/12/07 **

Shelvis sorry to hear your not sleeping any better. have you tried speaking to a herbalist or someone like that, that could advise if there is anything you can take. They are normally really good in Holland and barettEveryone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070

I havent actually I might have to call in. Someone bought me a badger balm sleep aid but it says on the front its full of essential oils so I have no idea if i can apply it to me or not. I did try a good sniff of it last night but it didnt do anything. Smells like lavendar which to me reminds me of old ladies and toilets!!
Tried hard to stay awake today but failed I fel aslleep during Diagnosis murder and work up about 20 mins ago. I hope i can still sleep tonight or i will cry.0 -
shelvis i know the feeling im up and down all night between peeing and then the just waking up for the sake of it and not being able to go back to sleep, it is driving me crazy. baby has been doing some strange things and its been really hurting but fingers crossed this means he is turning!!!!
i have had the worst few days first was backache the other night and had been given low dose co-codimaol from the hospital for spd which i have never taken , so thought nice warm bath 2 of those and early night.......... well i will never take them again. within 10 minutes of taking them i was so sick and could not stop think i pulled a few muscles in my stomach and was sitting on bathroom floor in floods of tears shouting on OH, eventually got into bed and baby started moving awkward??? the next day i wanted bacon rolls and burnt the bacon yet again the tears appeared?????? and lastly i had appointment to see complimentary therapist (through my midwife) had been looking forward to it all day and eventuslly got there to be told its not till thurs afternoon. i felt so stupid and disapointed that i went back to the car and cried my eyes out. at 33+4 i have had enough and just wish it was over. i am so organised for baby and xmas and though i would be able to take things easy and enjoy next few weeks but all i do is cry and feel sorry for myself???? sorry for the moan and hope everyone else is doing better, just seems to make things bit easier when you get it all off your chest!!!!! xxxWhat's for you won't go past you0 -
Sorry so many of us are feeling rotten.
Im sitting here waiting for somebody to come and pick up something from ebay, i was sitting here 2 bloody hours ago aswell  im 7 months pregnant and need to be in my PJ's in bed watching TV, NOT fully dressed (with makeup) pacing the house, looking out of the window for hours on end.
Why dont people have the decency to let you know whats going on:heart: I love my gorgeous little girl0 -
Grrr do they not know not to mess with a pregnant lady!! Give em what for!!!
Treated myself to a pizza from Dominos and I am so so full now. But happy. Tis amazing how cathartic writing and moaning on here is!0 -
This might sound a mad idea but after having sleeping problems all the way through my pregnancy (first through stress and now just because I've forgotten how to sleep I think) I bought some of that baby oil that's meant to ake the baby sleep - the Johnson's with lavender and camomile. It might all be in my head but I do seem to sleep better if I rub some on before bed (I do keep forgetting though!) Had a terrible night last night - wide awake nearly all night so will definitely be tryig it tonight.0

Sorry to hear lots of people are having trouble sleeping, be careful if you try lavander, its not recomended before around 25 weeks.
I will be 27 weeks tomorrow and am really begining to feel the strain, I have M.E so I think its affecting me a bit more than normal. We went christmas shopping this afternoon and I had to visit 5 public loo's!!! I think I could give guided tours of the facilities offered to shoppers in canterbury city centre. Baby George thinks my bladder is a trampoline, grrrr!!! I wish I had all the money in the world to go to a spa and be pampered. My back is killing me now.
I just wanted to ask, what kind if antenatal classes have people been offered by their NHS midwives? I have just found out we only get three sessions, for some reason I thought it was more.0
