Congratulations to all the new mums and mums to be, Ophie, am so pleased for you xx

Went for a check up today and spoke to my midwife about having a homebirth, she is going to post me a leaflet with some information and then ring me once i have had time to read it, then midwife will come out to visit me and talk me through everything and answer any questions we might have, getting exctied now woo hoo!!
Midwife said baby was dinky when feeling my belly, but if she was that worried she would have sent me for a scan, and what a perfect excuse to eat more cakes before the next check up :rotfl:

Hi Guys, I'm Be and I'm expecting a baby girl (at least a 95% chance of her being a girl) with my lovely OH, Alan, on the 20th February 08. I'm very excited about it as she will be my first born. We are going to call her Ember.

I came on this site today to help me find out about where's best to get free stuff for pregnant mums. I've had a look at the nappies site and the childcare vouchers but just wondered if there was a thrift pregnancy board or something like that?

I've really enjoyed reading all the posts on here and wish everyone all the best with their babies and babies to be. :T xxx

Sorry everyone - I really feel like i am going on now.

So worried about having had amnio, been reading up on internet and feel like i will be in limbo for the next 3 weeks in case i miscarry. Constantly going to to the toilet to knicker check. I am a very negative person and am thinking what if the test has done something to baby which nobody will know about until it is born. Sorry, hate being so negative, don't want to bring everyone else down. This combined with other serious things that are going on at the minute are making things horrendous. Why do I always make the wrong decisions? I sound like a right misery don't i?

Big Hugs 3KIDS. Maybe not a good idea to do too much internet research methinks! I'm a bit like you, always think the worst and then you might get lucky and not be disappointed. All this negativity isn't going to help though peeps.

If you hadn't taken the test you would have spent the rest of your pregnancy tearing your hair out. You took the test and it looks as if everything's ok - so try and concentrate on the positives.

Is there someone you can talk to face to face about your fears of miscarrage following an amnio?

I'm sure someone will be along on here in a bit with first hand experience of this.

You're definately not a misery...and I bet you don't always make the wrong decisions (you have three lovely little ones for a start AND one on the way)!

Nobody i can talk to about miscarriage, OH is an optimist. Just all the things i have read seem to say different. Just wish i hadn't had the test. I know i would worry no matter what i had chosen to do though.

Hi 3Kids. Please remember that the internet has every horror story going and that normally these things do not happen in pregnancy.

There is also a number that you can call if you are worrying about things during pregnancy. It was set up by the National Childbirth Trust.

It is also a good idea if you can to try and force your brain to think positive about this and as soon as that worry creeps in try focusing on giving love to your baby. If the worry creeps in whilst you're doing this just focus back on giving love to your baby. It's good to try and break the worry cycle if you can and keep forcing your brain to think about giving love to your baby instead. That way you can have a different focus and your little one will love it.
