Can't believe they don't stock the baskets in all Tesco stores.
What do you do to help with the veins. I have some support stockings but haven't worn them yet. I know the obvious thing is don't stand too long but that isn't always practical. Bit worried as I am only just over 17 weeks and am only going to get heavier so presume the veins will get worse and more painful.
Honestly? I haven't done anything about mine, they are only really bad when the baby is putting pressure there. I think seeing as you have another 23 weeks to go and the fact that you have them in your legs too, it would be worth discussing with the midwife. My due date is almost here, and the veins have been pushed to the back of my mind due to all of the other odd pains and sensations i'm getting at the mo.:)Henry James Born 18/03/2011-11 days late!:)

Has anybody been doing their perineal massaging?
I am 37 weeks and I had hoped to start doing it at 36 weeks but I just can't get on with it at all and now I am worried this will cause me problems during the birth.0 -
Has anybody been doing their perineal massaging?
:rotfl: :rotfl: Oh look, yet another thing I won't be doing!
I just can't bring myself to try this!
I just got out of the bath and was sympathising with my pee pee, you poor thing, you're not going to be happy, I said. :rotfl: I really need to go easy on the home remedies!! Funny in the head I am!
I gave up on my second hand moses basket, as it's a funny size and the replacement mattress would have been expensive. So I bought a shiny new one. Do I need to wash the covers on it? It's just that it's so clean and I don't want it covered in dog hair straight away... Please advise.
September Baby, I really don't want to rush you, so I'm not saying anything  , but good luck and don't turn it into a marathon. You, of all people can't afford to go overdue, what will people say when you have an October Baby??:wall:0 -
bit of a catch up post from me..... (bit long... bit ranty towards the end
)
machairs - on the preggo forum im on, as i remember it there have been quite a few cases of people who didnt see anything on thier first scan and it worried them senseless, but most had their dates wrong and it was way too early to see anything or baby was just playing hide and seek, ive heard more positive outcomes than negative, so fingers crossed this is the case for you, KUP.
we got our tesco baby basket (after a few tries... they were always sold out! apart from that time we went shopping without the voucher  )
it took ages for the coupon to come through originally.... i thought they had forgotten about us to start with
welcome Rince, your especially welcome as your behind me on the list!fac73 wrote:Pelvic floor exercises? Clench, clench, clench... that's all well and good until baby decides to squeeze bladder in a death grip
i could have posted this exact sentence (infact i was going too... but Fac beat me too it) *clench clench clen..... oh who am i kidding, i cant be bothered and if OH is brave/stupid enough to want to go up there after the birth then he will just have to put up with me being 'slack alice' for a while!
all that clenching sends Danny into a kicking frenzy and he does enough of that as it is! i need a damn break!
perineal massaging? PERINEAL MASSAGING?? i cant reach to shave my bloody legs! let alone try to contort myself into a comfortable enough position to make friends with my perineum!
we havent spoken since i needed to be cut last time and the "healing" stitches nearly killed me... if i start being nice to it now, it will know i want something and go on the defensive,
surprise attack! thats the way to go....
update on my niece - she spent the first 2 nights in special care and needed an ECG the day after birth because her pulse was all over the place... but it must of just been a reaction to her traumatic birth because she is fine now, and they are all going home on thursday! the only problems i see them having to be honest is my mum is going to stay with them on thursday (they live 300 miles away....clever, VERY clever)
i cant think of anything worse than my mother being there to stay for a few days the day i come home from hospital, i wanted to ask her if my brother and SIL were ok with her plans but decided not too.... let them deal with it if they are not brave enough to say 'would you mind giving us five minutes alone before you turn up expecting to be picked up from the coach station and taking over'
i remember falling out with mum when i had DD, i told her not to come for at least the first week, it was the only time my OH had off work and i wanted it to just be us, time to get used to being a 3 piece family without other people around, she found this quite unreasonable... so i found the off switch on my phone.
so now....for some reason she thinks that as i will be having this baby in the hospital thats 5 minutes up the road from her house that she will be there, i doubt she will be happy when she gets told that she can sit in the waiting room for days if she wants... but she is NOT stepping one foot into my labour room.
I would rather be delivered by the ghost of harold shipman.0 -

I doubt I'll go for the perineal massage. Since the complication I've just wanted to concentrate on getting to 36 weeks without going into labour - I worry that fiddling down there could trigger something!£4000 challenge

Congrats everyone who has had their babies now - you lucky things.
Still struggling on - only 3 days till due date now and I think I may have to maim the next person who phones me up to ask me if I had had the baby yet.
Surely if the little tyke had arrived I would have let my nearest and dearest know by now - especially my mother who is supposed to be looking after my 10 year old daughter while im in hospital??? Am I being uber-sensitive in my bloated, irrational state or is she being a bit dim? GRRRRRRR
Has anyone got any new ideas for bringing on labour as I have tried all the usual ones and have had nothing to show for it except a really bad case of integestion (curry on friday night). Have even tried the black cohosh which doesnt taste nice.£2008 for 2008 club member 3360 -
I know it can be annoying when you get lots of calls asking 'have you had it yet', but as i have said in one of my older posts, at least people care. I come from a big family and nobody will bother to call me and not many will visit either. To be honest i hate hypocrites and don't want people to visit when I don't see them any other day of the year.
Sorry, but feeling a bit sorry for myself. Struggling to find someone to look after my son when i go for an appointment which he can't go to and it seems everyone else has dozens of people to help them.now mum of 4!!!0 -

Oh, the shame of it! :rotfl:
MW has just been. The head is nearly engaged! :j and it looks like baby is no longer in the back to back position. Seeing my MW at my GP's on Thurs (if no baby!) and then I'll be booked in for term plus 10 induction .
