send all your spare pity this way cos ive got a double ear infection
and i was so hot and feverish on the way home from the school run i actually thought i had a couple of contractions....(turns out i just needed an emergency poo :rotfl: )
so im planning on spending most of the next day or so on the sofa, wallowing. (with the good biscuits and some milk)
OH is on the kitchen making me a special dinner bless him,
and im sat here staring at this bottle of antibiotics that i dont want to take, i have relented and taken a paracetamol, they say its safe for the baby but i r-e-a-l-l-y dont want this Erythromycin crap,
any of you had to take it while pregnant?0 -
Oh poor CG *hugs*
I had an ear infection early on in my pregnancy (15 weeks-ish?) and it was HELL so I really sympathise. I had to take antibiotics for it (don't think it was Erythromycin, although it might have been, or something very similar anyway) - TBH I was desperate to take anything as paracetamol was useless. I know it's not ideal to take stuff in pregnancy but as they say, the stuff they give you is safe and if you need it, you need it.
Hope you feel better soon - I'm sitting here wincing at my memories as this was my first ever ear infection and it was awful; poor you. :grouphug:0 -

And anyway, bra sizes are a relative concept when you're actually breastfeeding. I'm sure my cup size changes at least one size up or down depending on when Alex's last feed was :rotfl:0 -

Oh CG, I hope you got back to sleep, it sounds awful
Hope you're feeling alright too SB, at least they are really looking after you though.
Is anyone else feeling like they're going to need a holiday when this is all over?0 -
SeptemberBaby, At least now I know what you're talking about. Those chairs are very comfortable... Made me sleepy. But I had a job to do - press a button everytime you feel baby move. I found this impossible as you could hear the baby move, so was unsure if I felt it or not!
fac73, you book it and I'll meet you at the airport!
Curious George, I can soooo sympathise. I've been getting these so often it's not funny, thankfully they have left me alone during the pregnancy even though I had a string of five just before. I hate the stupendous pain they cause. They need stronger painkillers than just paracetamol (I took cocktails) and I never found oral antibiotics any help, well not long-lasting help anyway. I stick by this one ear spray, although a consultant said it was one of the most toxic substances and please don't use it in pregnancy . God, just thinking about it is making me shudder, you have my sympathies, please get better soon!!:wall:0 -
I'm with you on that one fac73! 4 weeks tuesday until my c-section, during which time ..... DS starts pre-school, husband is building conservatory and fitting new kitchen and lounge/dining/kitchen to be decorated!
Fell to pieces totally yesterday...made him stay home from work to supervise the builders who were knocking down the wall between the dining and kitchen....I've done 34 and a bit weeks without losing the plot but it all went tearful yesterday! Anyway, pottered about with DS and had an early night and now I fell like "well, what was all that fuss for!"
Oh and I've bagged a home visit for my 36 weeks MW appointment, I went along monday and their schedule for 2 weeks time was already overbooked. Combined with waiting for 50 minutes for my appointment I was a bit fed up to say the least! So don't just take it girls, whether its you first baby or your tenth we are all entitled to decent midwifery care.
here endeth fridays sermon!"Put the kettle on Turkish, lets have a nice cup of tea.....no sugars for me.....I'm sweet enough"0 -
Hi, Casperlarue,
Having had builders in myself i know how stressful it can be especially when pregnant. Try not to let it get on top of you - it will be lovely when it's done. I know it's hard to think like this, but there are loads more things worse that can happen than a bit of brick dust.now mum of 4!!!0 -

wow, can't believe how fast i am moving up the list...and the worst of it is, that although my EDD is 7th nov, realistically the twins will be coming by section around week 37 (mid oct) so that makes my date even nearer!!!
Am 31wks now, and have felt 40wks size for a long time (womb has been 40wk size since around week 28). Am waddling up and down to school, but it has been a godsend since the kids went back to school on wed, as i am able to rest more in the day, without my 3+5yr old demanding my attention constantly, bless em!!
Finishing work on tuesday hooray! and then have around 5weeks to organised twins room, my mat bag and buy people carrier!!! (and thats 5 weeks if they don't come early-no pressure then!)
Rant over, honest!!Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0
