I guess I should count myself lucky as it's taken me 36 weeks to get it, but I've got heartburn now.
Not very enjoyable, is it.
I was hoping to avoid it altogether, as I didn't have it at all in my first pg, but hey ho.
Anything I can do to make it more bearable, apart from eating smaller portions? It's not bad really, just unpleasant at the moment.

Welcome to the club. I drink Gaviscon by the bottle, but it isn't pleasant!!! Does help though!!!!

my heartburn seems to have eased a bit since my bump started dropping I was on the high strength Gaviscon and having to sleep propped up but I'm now back on just Rennies and able to sleep mostly flat again (although usually have to take another lot of Rennies during the night....)0

Any legal bods on here? I work for company A which was sold off by Company B in Jan to Company C. Whilst working on what new policies should be, we continued to adopt those in place with Co B.... and during various consultative meetings, the executive team said that any new policies adopted by us would be comparable or better than Co B's.
However... Co B's maternity policy is 6 wks at 100%, then SMP etc, but on return to work a bonus of 20% of basic salary is applied for 12 months - to encourage people to come back. I told work just over a week ago about my pregnancy and they decided to "rush through" their own policy. I was told yesterday that this will only be the 6 wks at 100%, no sodding return to work bonus. This is a big financial difference, so anyone know if they can legally do this where no Company A policy was officially in place at the time I notified them? I think precedent has been set that Co's B's policy should have applied, but not confident enough to create a stir at work without knowing I have a leg or 2 to stand on!
In the meantime, congrats to the new parents and parents to be!0 -
sorry dougggie I don't know for definite but I suspect you'll have to accept the new T&Cs - my friend has just been through a similar thing. If you have a union then it's well worth asking them though as the company only changed their policy after you had informed them then you might have a right to expect the old policy but I think it's hard to prove. I don't know if they have a right to change it up till you go on maternity but I think my friend was well beyond the 25 week mark when she'd had to inform them before she was notified of the changes. If you've no union I would speak to the CAB as they should have more details.0

Agutka - you must be into single figures now? (Weeks to go I mean)... mwahahaha
Thanks for reminding me. And I still have no nursery, pram, car seats, maternal instincts, nesting instincts, hospital bag clothes... Nor am I aware that all this giving birth we've been learning about will soon be applicable to lil'old me! Aaarrrgghhh!!
I'm going back to bed...
PS My gym membership runs out today, so am going swimming. For the second time in the pregnancy!! No wonder I'm in such a state.:wall:0 -
