I heard about this in one of my pregnancy mags, but it does say that each nipple needs to be tweaked for at least 15 minutes at a time and should only be done under medical supervision as it can bring on very hard and fast contractions if not done properly. The prospect of a doctor tweaking my nipples (if they could get anywhere near them for that long as they are v painful again) really goes against the whole idea of nipple tweaking for pleasure :rotfl:

Keeping fingers crossed that some of you overdue ladies go soon and get the birth you want. I still have a week to go before my due date yet so I'm trying not to get too fed up, but it is difficult, just trying to keep myself occupied. Wii is helping, but need to be careful I don't overdo it with my hips so I stop myself having a water birth!!

Good luck to you too Welshlassie - it's so frustrating just now, isn't it.

Re. nipple tweaking - hard and fast contractions sound better than no contractions at all at the moment - that's how desperate I am! I was also told at NCT class that hand expressing colostrum helps so I might try that this morning.

Keeping my fingers crossed that we all get the births we want and SOON!

i read for nipple tweaking you have to do each nipple for fifteen mns very hour ?! thatd take up quite a bit of your day! my friend went 12 days over, had a sweep and baby was here 15 hours later

midwife told her the sweep wouldnt work and she would need inducing - her membranes were too thick or something but anyway she was in labour hours later! good luck hun !

Hello, another one to add to the list.

just as background, we found that we needed IVF.
we had one free chance under our local PCT, and through bham womens hospital in Selly Oak.

First attempt failed and i have to say it was a terrible experience. However we were really not going to giove up, so we dug deep (into our pockets!) and had another go. this go was much more successful and we managed to save some eggs for later attpemts, (much cheaper!).

So second attempt and we have had success!

we weren't sure even afterwards, so we did 4 tests (just in acse )

anyway, today we had our first scan to discharge us from the fertility clinic and we saw a little teeny tiny blob, 1 cm across....and a heartbeat!

we are soo happy!
