There's something strange going on with my bump.
On just one side, right near my hip and top of my leg it feels sort of numb, like when you have an injection at the dentist and you run your fingers over your mouth, kinda that sort of sensation, it's not a big area, just wondering if it could be my skin stretching or something.

Anyway got really excited last night as DH felt bun moving around so i know i'm not imagining it anymore

Bit late now (just finished work) but best of luck Eels - hope it all goes well & you get some rest in hospital before you come home!

Hands up those of you that saw "Undercover Mother" last night on TV? :eek: Hopefully Eels didn't! Another unbiased TV programme :rolleyes2 but it did make me think about wiping my name from the TTC list...:rotfl:

Seriously - we all know the NHS is overstretched & understaffed (yes I work in the NHS) but I doubt anywhere is as bad as Watford was portrayed! I've had 2 C-sections at different hospitals & my treatment was wonderful - the midwives were busy all the time, but they did always have time for all of us women on the wards. They did have the benefit of a dedicated team of volunteers who did the "grunt work" like filing, meals, ferrying visitors, mopping up tears etc.. Can't praise them enough. :T

I watched the "Undercover Mother", but wasn't as concerned as I would have been normally as it was the English NHS and the NHS in Wales is run differently. That's not to say that the Welsh NHS is any better, but I can convinence myself that its fine with me. It was also consultant led, and as I'm Midwife Led this also helps.

Well my contractions started at 5am. I've spoken to the hospital and they've told me to stay put for the time being until they are more frequent and painful, curled up on the sofa with my duvet and watch TV. Can't argue with that.

I've sent DH to work, but he's only 20 mins away and my parents and parents in law are up the road should DH not be around quick enough.

I think the tennis and bowling on the Wii last night must have worked. The hospital did say I could be 24-48 hours in the latent phase, but at least something is happening now, I'm feeling better and less impatient. Just a shame I'm going to have to cancel my plans for this week, as I was going to catch up with some friends I haven't seen for a while.

She did, spot on or what. Although she did say I'll have a baby in arms by Wednesday, so hopefully baby will have arrived by midnight. :j
