I received my buildings / contents renewal and as expected its gone up even though I didn't make any claims. I called them up told them how disappointed I was at the increase seeing as I was a loyal and careful customer and they offered me a loyalty discount which works out that I am paying less this year than I was last year.

Also, I don't wear a uniform to work myself but took it upon myself to help all my fellow colleagues at work who do wear a uniform claim for washing it by writting the letters for them and all 6 members of staff got the rebate and it was back dated too.Sealed Pot Challenge #6010

Hello!! Just wanted to see if I could get some badges if possible. I'm new to the forums but have been money savvy for years and have regularly been looking on MSE to keep me in the mo eh saving loop.
Last year I got married and kept to a budget of £12K. I know that's a lot of money but we budgeted and saved for it and didn't go over our budget. We got into no debt planning for the wedding and a number of things we did include:
*engagement ring was a family heirloom and we went to Birmingham Jewellery Quarter for our wedding rings
*we got married on a Thursday and had our reception at a separate venue on the Friday evening for only £250 room booking
*we self catered the evening reception and as I worked at a supermarket was able to use my staff discount on my shopping there
* a family friend did our photography for free, we got another friend to be master of ceremonies, we got a family friend discount on the wedding cake and we got friends to help setup and decorate the reception venue
* my mother handmade bunting and my MIL made the table setting flowers herself from a wholesaler florist
*we waited 3 months to go on our honeymoon until October saving us hundreds
* we requested money as wedding gifts as we had been living in sin for 4 years and didn't need any gifts. We got over £1200 in gifts and used this to fund a lot of our honeymoon
Also, I'm an energy saving tart as use the cheap energy market has saved me over £250 a year in the last 6 months and gained £60 cash back as I've switched twice now. Thank you btw!!
And I'm a regular on Topcashback and have had over £250 cash back in the last year even on everyday things like the Wiggle voucher I gave my husband for Valentines Day!
I'm waiting to see if I can save money on my home insurance (April) and car insurance (October) and have sent off for my uniform rebate so will update when I get responses from these.
Hope I get some badges. I've been so money savvy in the past few years and would love a little token of reward!0 -
Hi Badger
I was wondering if I would be eligible for a recycling badge
At home I recycle everything from food tins/packaging to clothes. I usually turn old clothes into fancy dress outfits. (World book day)
I use the milk bottle tops and thread them on string, usually the cord from old trackie bottoms to make toys for my sisters Parrot. He loves chewing them all off.
I even got moaned at at work for rummaging in the staff room bin.
People just chuck everything in the bin without thinking. I have a habit of taking out the recycling, cleaning it and placing it in the correct bin.
Hopefully they will get so sick of me leering over their shoulders, waiting to pounce they will eventually do it themselves.
Please consider me for a badge
