Big difference between not knowing and lying.

Who p*ssed on your cornflakes this morning?

Why do you care so much that they may, or may not, have lied?

WBAC clearly rip people off by offering stupidly low money to people who are desperate. They have a mechanic look over the car to spot the things that need doing...it's buyer beware when buying a used car, it applies to WBAC also.

Your lying. Your first post admits you knew it needed work so got a quote.

I think its very clear you misdescribed the car and hoped they wouldnt notice.

I am not a liar, just because I didnt put down the full sequence of events in my first post, it doesnt mean anything. Keep your insults to yourself, thanks.

    You are just an idiot.

Why are they scum? Please explain.

They are a business whose business plan is to buy cars as cheaply as possible and turn these over as quickly as possible who aim to attract people who need cash quickly and therefore need to accept a lower price than a private sale would bring in.

The fact is if you want to sell a car quickly or without hassle you cant expect top dollar for it.

They are not a charity and if you arent willing to take a hit on value then pay and sell it privately.

Oh and for the record I am neither an employee of webuyanycar or insane.
Oh dear Judas, a personal attack at me when you don't even know me, tut tut. No I am not an idiot, but if you have to resort to this level and the fact that you want me to explain myself when the reasons are clear to the whole forum... well unfortunately this makes you the idiot my friend.

It is quite simple, there is one work for them "scum". Anyone who has posted anything positive on here about webuyanycar is clearly insane, a member of their staff or is being paid to do it. I personally will make it my mission to ensure they go out of business.

Dearie me. Wrong on every level.

Sounds like you got taken to the cleaners by them. They worked a treat for me. ;)

WBAC are a business; they want to buy cars at the lowest price possible; what is wrong with this business model. No one has to sell to them or even ask them for a quote.
I give up! I have said my piece. If you want any further explanation I suggest you read the entire forum. Now get back to your job at webuyanycar and leave me alone please!

I valued two cars on there, the one I have to sell and the one I wanted to buy. I guessed at mileage and got it a long way under for my own car - it was just to give me an idea of the values. I thought both values were ridiculously low and they were very keen, emailling me again the next day to try and arrange the apppointment. There was also a £50 admin fee.

If you sell to a dealer, you know that they need to sell it on and will make allowance for their mark up.

I get the impression that they are there for what you might consider the pawn shop end of the market, if you are desparate and need your money now, then you may have to consider them. It's awful that people in this position do continually get ripped off, but that's the way it is.

Incidently I think the local scrap yard are currently offering slightly higher prices.

I got a quote from wbac.com and actually it was very fair - not much short of the trade in Glass's value. I decided to keep the car in the end, so don't know whether they would have kept to the figure.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
