I too did my degree in Education and swore I would never, ever, ever become a teacher. Well, after a brief foray into retail, and the careers service, guess what I ended up doing after all!

Quiet week here, took part in a focus group for Card Factory last night, got paid £40 and there was a free bar and nibbles. Hubby finally having his wisdom teeth out tomorrow, hospital referred him to a private clinic as a emergency. Hopefully that means we will get a good nights sleep.
Only 2 weeks till Michael Buble ***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0 -

All this talk of concerts is really making me jealous! I seem to have got itchy feet at the moment and just want to go and do something (not sure what!)
Reports are coming on. Have done 13 now, but didn't realise they are due in this Friday! Been at the school fair today with the girlies. I gave them a couple of pounds each, which lasted them about 10 minutes each, and then, whilst I was manning a stall they disappeared for about twenty minutes. Soon after I was approached by one of the photographers who had come in to take pics to sell the parents. It only turns out that the girls had decided they wanted their pictures taken, had asked the price (free with the option to buy) and then had stood posing for 15 minutes!:D Now this is all very good, but if they're nice I will HAVE to buy them!
Made some oatie biscuits this afternoon. Haven't made enough as they have gone down a storm. Luckily the recipe was exceedingly basic, so even I couldn't b***er it up!:DLoan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327

Just had a read of your diary - you sound like you really give your all to your family.
Just a thought, though. Would it be possible to bring your husband on board with this project? I can't help but feel that it's the responsibility of you both to clear you debt. I think it may be a whole lot harder to keep motivated over a long time when debt busting is about a million tiny savings, and your husband may be inadvertently undoing your good work.
Have you tried to give him a chance to be your equal in this quest? He might give you strength. I think you may need it over the longer term.
It seems to me that you are very much of a doer and amazingly self motivated, but that you have assumed 100% responsibility for the debt busting, with however only having 50% control of it.
How could you get your husband to buy into this? Could you motivate him with something? If being debt free is not motivation enough, there could be a reward at the end?
It seems to me that you are the one who is worried about the debt and he is not, maybe you need to show him how much it means to you?
Sending you all the good vibes
Hi Harri..enjoying your diary, starting from the beginning and got to this.
I was here. Cat speaks a lot of sense. I was here for the last 10 years ( my diary title says it all..first LBM flickered on 10 years ago in September..shockingly I am still in debt..) but a fortnight or so ago OH found out the extent of our debt and its so much better not having a secret, working on it together and sharing the workload and decision making.
Anyway reading on now..:TMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
