Please explain this to me?!?!?!?!?! You can exchange it?!?!Total Debt: -£5,029.17/£11,220

Well, basically, hubby just went in and complained that as the milk was dated the 10th June and had been stored correctly in the fridge, there was no reason for it to be off and that he was not happy about it. They just said he could exchange it!
Someone at work did say that sometimes the deliveries are sat outside for quite a while, so maybe this has happened before.
Friday, at last! Done most of my marking tonight so have less to do at the weekend. Last to leave work tonight but, hey ho. Now need to try and make some antelope horns for DD1's dress rehearsal tomorrow. Was planning on using felt, stuffing it and then somehow attaching them to a headband, but someone suggested crumpled up newspaper covered in masking tape and then painted. Either way, it's not something I'm relishing doing. Lots of the parents seem to have heaps of money so no-doubt they will have REAL antelope horns and mine will look woefully inadequate
.
Children in the garden arguing at the moment. Mainly DD2 who has been whinging since I collected her from nursery. I think all the sunshine makes her grumpy. I also wish I hadn't taught them the 'school dinners' version of Frere Jacques, as they are now singing this on repeat.Loan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327

Kids in bed and have now rung hubby to pick up some masking tape on his way home.
Also wanted to share Hubby's money saving idea for helping DD1's school shoes to last another 6 weeks. Basically, she's worn them so much you can see the white underneath the leather. I always buy decent school shoes, but really don't want to fork out for any more till September. Hubby takes a look at the shoes, says 'Hmmm', grabs a permanent marker and colours in the white bit. Job done!:rotfl:Loan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327

Welcome to my ramblings, Eyebright.
Not sure how money saving they are, but I do find them therapeutic
.
Over the course of the last week, hubby has decided to wash every item of clothing we possess. This includes things that no longer fit, that have been at the bottom of the wash basket for eternity and even some items that were still in the drier from when it broke several weeks ago
. Now our house looks like a laundry! There is washing on the line, on the airer outside and in a huge pile in the ironing basket. Now, it should be noted that although he has pulled his proverbial finger out and done all this washing, he has not said anything about who is going to iron it (he clearly hasn't thought this far ahead).
Now, in the interest of fairness, I did do some ironing yesterday and in return Hubby made DD1's antelope horns. We went with the paper and paint method and they look fab!:) I did have to remind him that antelopes have two straightish horns, as we were in danger of having Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer with him adding more and more bits as he went along.
Been in the garden this afternoon, so got the lawn mowed. Having major problems with the grass trimmer, which only seems to be capable of cutting a small section before the cable (wire, thread, whatever it is?) breaks and needs re-threading. Gave up in the end.....
Also spent £5 on having my car washed at Sainsbugs. Now, I know this is not very money saving but .. and there is a but...I live on a street with lime trees and the sap gets all over your car and is really sticky and horrible. Well, by the end of this week I was so sick of sticking to the car when I tried to open the door, and also of the numerous flies stuck to the paintwork, I gave in and got someone else to do it. As far as I'm concerned that's money well spent!

Evening Harri-bear!
Thanks for the tip on the milk. I have to say that my milk has never gone off before the end date as far as I know. I'm a sniff-it-and-if-it-smells-ok-drink-it kind of girl when it comes to the use by date on milk really. It probably helps that our fridge is so old & decrepit it has a full blown iceberg at the back. This isn't a build up of freezer like frost... this is more like a frozen waterfall with the odd bit of broccoli & blueberries encased in there for all to see!
:rotfl: your girlies sound hilarious indeed!! My little sister used to eat soap to make herself sick when she didn't get enough attention. She soon learnt after my mum found a half eaten bar of soap under her bed. The next time she was sick my mum made her eat a spoon of washing up liquid :P bubbles everywhere. THAT made her sick :rotfl:
Ooooh I am also a fan of marker penning in shoes. I do it all the time with my own since I have a habit of falling over and scraping heels to death
No need to justify the car wash. Its a horrible job made easier when other people do it for you

Morning everyone, I hope you've all had a good weekend, our garden is now finished, sheds up, rubbish gone, grass cut & borders weeded, thank goodness its feels like we've been gardening forever!
Hubby is still in agony with toothache, now has infection and is waiting for appointment to have tooth taken out but in the meantime he isnt sleeping which means Im not sleeping, having to listen to all his huffing and puffing, I know toothache is the worst but I dont have much patience or sympathy .... evil wife
Bought 3 rose bushes for 75p each from Poundland, hopefully they will take and next year will flower. I also bought 2 bags of 36 Asda Orange & Papaya liquid tabs for £3 each, think they're being discontinued. My daughter bought new curtains for half price in Dunelm, bargain !
Well the dishwasher wont empty itself, a bit of housework this morning and then out to see a friend for a gossip. Take care x***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0 -
Evening all - thought I'd better check in.
Finally getting Hubby's bank accounts in order. Have been checking every day for charges, dipping into the overdraft etc. By this weekend it should all be sorted. Then to sort out my overdraft - sigh.
Never mind, only one more month of childcare to pay and then I'll be free to pay things off quicker.:)
Good day at work, it always helps when the sun is shining.
Well done on getting your garden sorted Karen
. I have recently discovered that I like spending time in the garden. The lawn's looking a bit sad at the moment as we had a big paddling pool on it all weekend and we now have a big patch of mud and grass that is completely squashed flat. Kids loved it though.
Girlies are currently having a great time with Hubby making their pack-ups for tomorrow - DD1 has been pestering to help all weekend. They are making tuna butties at the moment and the cat is currently lurking around the kitchen, knowing full well that most of the tuna will end up on the floor!Loan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327

Okay, so just been to read the girlies their bedtime story with hubby. Now, they have this really annoying Disney book with sound effects down the side, which we both hate reading. Anyway, I read said book and the girls were falling out, as usual, about who pressed the buttons, what button went with what picture and so on and so forth.
To cut a long story short (literally!) I came downstairs to find hubby removing the batteries and putting them in the bin :rotfl:. Guess we won't be reading this again for a while
