Okay, been a while so here goes -
Bad things (out of my control) -
 My car is rubbish!!!!!
On Monday, STOP came up on my dash (luckily only 10 metres from home). The pipe leading from the radiator to where you fill it has a blanking cap which had sheared off and so consequently no water was getting to the radiator. Bought another one (very cheap) - problem solved or so I thought...
On Tuesday, the battery light came up on my dash. Chose to ignore it (as you do) and everything seemed Ok.
On Wednesday, again very near to home, ALL the lights on my dash came on. Thought I'd better mention it to hubby at this point, as cars really aren't my strong point (not that they're his either). A short while later Hubby comes in carrying a bit of string, which, it turns out, was what was left of my fan belt!
As a result, I have had to pay for a hire car for 3 days, I still have no idea how much the repairs to my car will cost (2 more things were damaged by the fan belt) and, to cap it all, everyone keeps congratulating me on my nice new car (IT'S NOT MINE!) What a week!
 Bad things (in my control)
I have to confess to spending quite a bit on the garden. I wanted to move the compost heap, so I had to buy a wheelbarrow, but then I saw some plants and ended up spending a small fortune on them....oh, and then there's the trellis.....
 Confession over!:o
 Good things
DD2's graduation from nursery. Very, very, cute!:)
Have lost 6 1bs in 2 weeks. Hubby is feeding me very healthily at the moment, although he is now letting me cut my own cheese!:T (see Cheesegate if you've just joined my ramblings).
I have also been trying to do Nike fitness on the x-box, but I seem to have damaged my left ankle, so where you need to jump, I can only hop at the moment!
 The dilemma.....
Okay, so moneywise this month has been rubbish. So, do I write it off and take the girls out tomorrow, or do I start again right now? (pay day is Monday)Loan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327

Hi Just read through your diary, and I have been in a similar position with my husband recently. He had a payday loan and another loan which I knew nothing about! The lies annoyed me more than the debt.

I'm probably NOT the best person to advise, but I'd try a compromise. Take the girls out, but don't blow it i.e. choose something cheap to do like fruit picking or beach rather than cinema or zoo.
I hope you're not going to throw me out of your diary, but I have debts my DH does not know about, it absolutely eats me up but believe me, I can't tell him. I felt so awful for you reading about your discovery in May, and am so sorry you've had to deal with that.
My children are soon-to-be 6 and 4 too. I am in awe of your efforts to date with such a demanding job too (my DH is a teacher). Am looking forward to reading more & am right behind you, cheering you on.MBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)

            Hey folks!
Hello Little-Miss, things are much better with Hubby recently, just feel that nothing is being left 'unsaid' by him or 'unasked' by me. We both seem to be having more fun, although it was horrid at the time I found out.
Welcome Scottishspendaholic, I would never ever judge anyone else's situation, we all just have to do the best we can, however we can. Don't be in awe of my efforts though! I seem to have come off the rails rather a lot recently. We're going on holiday in 3 weeks, and childcare finishes in 2 weeks, so I am seeing September as the 'Big Push'.
Decided to take the girls to the garden centre, but didn't have lunch there. Instead the girls got an ice-cream and had their faces painted for free. I bought one thing, which was a poorly looking tree which was reduced from £40 to £10, as I desperately want to stop being so overlooked at the back of the garden. It's still touch and go with the tree, but I have given it a good water and 'misted' the leaves, so fingers crossed.
Hubby took us all out for lunch today - he's definitely more in control of his money - then we had a lovely salady tea outside, with lots of laughs. Hubby was telling the girls how when he was a boy he once covered his neighbour's alsation in margarine and how he used to wrap his uneaten veg in a tissue and throw it on the wash house roof. This was fine until his sister went up there to sunbathe and all these little food parcels came to light!:rotfl:
Just finishing off my work, while Hubby is doing Nike fitness (I am still 'injured' at the moment - honest ). Hubby definitely needs some better shorts as I keep getting distracted by certain parts of his anatomy which seem to be escaping whilst he is doing star jumps:rotfl:!!! Hello HB!
Sorry I have been absent. My own diary has been neglected also. You have no idea what you started with that website about painting things up... I haven't yet painted an object but as my landlord kindly left me two half full pots of white and magnolia emulsion (15 litres each!) I have basically redecorated the entire house  - I've even painted the skirting board and architraves in places. Lots more of that to do though. Why is my skirting over a foot tall I ask?!
The TREE!!!! My grandparents are both keen gardeners & they swear by TEA. Give your tree a nice stewed cup of tea, add sugar if you're feeling really nice to it (avoid the milk) and hopefully it will perk up in no time. It shan't hurt it! I do it quite often when a plant starts looking sad at work.
Really hope it isn't an acer tree with the pointy dark red leaves. Those are very hard to grow & keep alive in this country, beautiful as they are.
Anyways off to update my own diary. Yay to your littlie 'graduating'! Hope you got pictures
Take care of you & yours and WELL DONE on the 6lbs weight loss! That's amazing!

Hey Lilt - well done you for 'grasping the nettle' with the painting. I always look at sites like that but never feel quite brave enough to try them. I guess you are basically painting anything that doesn't move!:rotfl:
Will go and try the tea thing with my tree, not sure what it is, but I bought it because it was the 'right size' and was 'cheap'. I know it's not an acer, and it still has the label on so will report back tomorrow. Here's hoping!Loan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327

            Pay day today! Yay!
It's a good job really as I have had to buy some blackout curtains for DD1's room. She's got these light, wispy things, but we have discovered she is reading till about 10pm every night and then she's absolutely impossible to get up.
I didn't realise that they were so expensive - just shows you how much I know!
Bought Hubby some pressies this afternoon as it's his birthday tomorrow. I went to the Outlet Village so I got a good deal on a couple of designer T-shirts and some nice chocolates. He's 41 this year so I don't have to make such a big thing of it as when he turned 40. Debating whether to make him a cake as I don't want to scupper my diet!:rotfl:Loan 1 11,840 Loan 2 8487 Total 20327
