but Tesco would not know the transaction details as the person at customer service would simply be putting on the points to my clubcard as i will have forgotten to bring it with me when i shopped;) they would not be recording the transaction details just adding on the points, there would be nothing for them(at h/o) to bring up.

From the *technology* point alone......EVERYTHING Tesco need to know about what you bought in that particular shop, what coupons you used etc. will be stored in that barcode at the bottom of your receipt. It won't be long before Mr T even knows what you had for breakfast....

However.... Since, like you've also posted, your H & B is being done within your main grocery shop.......i also agree with you when you say *It won't ring any/many alarm bells at HQ*.........Unless you're getting through 500 odd points a week :D

But please......don't ever think Mr T doesn't know what you are buying & using......

I think my Tesco has fixed the tills to only take one of a coupon, where last week i bought 4 John Freida sachets and 4 coupons scanned against them in the same transaction, today i got 2 but only 1 coupon would scan and i asked the sa to try it again but the till just bleeped and would not take it.

Also i have not been using my clubcard for my shops lately where i have used lots of coupons due to "paranoia"! However can anyone confirm if you can have your points added afterwards or another day by just taking your receipt in and then wont it just be from looking at the total amount on the receipt, i mean they won`t bring up the receipt details will they and then the coupon use would not therefore show on my clubcard??:)

You certainly can have your points added this way, and you MAY get away with it but.......

there have been measures in place for a long time now, that constant points added to accounts this way will flag up on your account, and you could receive a letter about this.

These measures have been there long before excessive couponing started by the majority.......and people have received letters about it

When the barcode is scanned, the whole transaction details are also scanned, so its still possible to see the excessive couponing, so it could be putting a further obstacle in your way, rather than removing one.

Why not just enjoy (letter worry, free*) couponing like me, and just DONT use your Tesco Identity Card. I think i would have given up by now if after every transaction, i had to think..."I wonder if someone will spot this transaction and look for my details through my CC".

*Of course, I've had the letters, (this time last year)....thats the experience I speak from.......so for me, it may be more than a letter this time.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Morning Patty, Morning all...glad u didnt say "good morning"

Brought this from clothing thread as it'd lonely over there

This current coupon, and the two previous identical ones all seem to go to the stores that put out the £6 rather than those that put oiut the £10, £7 and £5's...A massive Extra near me has none, but a smaller one 10 miles away has loads of them.

Today i decided to travel these 10 miles to try and relieve them of some(had 410 of last weeks) so hoped they had some of this weeks.

Wombled a few "wet ones inthe car park"......As we were going in, OH and I split up, did a small shop £15 down to £3...then compared notes outside

"I got a load off woman at door" she said...."how did u do"...I said "oh..i got a few"...her load was 12......my few turned out to be 270.....so 282 between us....not bad....but it just goes to show how different people measure amounts.

Still got over 200 of last weeks left, and these of course....looking for blue clothing....on PTS of course.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Yeah! Finally found some H&B coupons in my local Tesco's :j :j :j
Picked up 2 quit kits too but don't see how i can use those vouchers
Have been reading the thread but not sure if i'll be able to get any bits free, our Tesco's is very strict with coupons. Any advice on how best to disguise bargains for a newbie??

For your 1st time, do roughly a £5 shop, and use £5 (ish) worth of coupons, then you will see just how easy it is, and how addictive it is too...

maybe just buy 4 of the skin wisdom face wipes which are bogof at £2.49, and a packet of tesco value toothbrushes 15p or some soap priced around 20p.

then use 2 quit £1.25 coupons and 1 £2.50 h&b..throwing in another £1 h&b if you want to...this will not draw attention to you, and will get you free stuff.

i always wait til they say thats £x please, and then get coupons out and say could i use some of these please...holding a wad of about 15 or so coupons...these please.

Yesterday my total to Pay was £39.48 then coupons....then i gave £6.00 got 12p change.....this included just 2 wipes a pack of razors and 2 bodysprays...the rest was free shopping, but thats all thanks to the printable daily mails and the £6 clothing - i used 3 yesterday...(thanks LH)...

I am loving my receipts at the moment.... :)

They don't scan the bar code in my shop, they just add the points on. Why not get one added and see how they do it in your shop?

    Morning everyone!
Nice to see some healthy debate going on here as usual. This thread always seems to be helpful AND friendly!!!

I have aquired a few £6ers and yesterday was brave enough to use them. The shop where I found them were being a little shirty about accepting them (they obviously knew what they were for!). But elsewhere (where they didn't have the coupons instore) they were happy to accept them. I haven't tried using more than one in a transaction but I am very tempted-obviously without CC (morning Leadhead!!)
