When I get points coupons, I buy the items knowing I don't want them. I get the points added and a couple of days later take the items back with my receipt to Customer Service for a refund. I've been doing this for ages now without any probs at all. They never ask for my Clubcard and have never taken back the points.

On the bottom left of page is a link for ask a question, this then gives you an email address, Id do this myself. Also I wonder wether these £2.58 will go through at tesco any way, if the SA didnt notice, tesco still get a while to claim the money back anyway. Worth a try anyway.

Ok, Ive done this, emailed them. I dont hold out much hope though, most contact pages seem to be run by office juniors who dont seem to know anything. Pity also the competition page on the website had no competitions on!

Well the coupons would probally scan but on the other side which does not have a barcode on it clearly says July 31st and with it being a high value coupon they might scrutinise it both sides. Sainsburys also sell Activa so it might be worth trying there. Mind you if they did say no to the coupon, just ask them to take the yoghurt off your bill but make sure you get the coupon back.

Little glitch I spotted yesterday..................macleans whitening toothpaste costs 2.45 but BOGOF comes off at 2.59 so you gain a handsome 14p!!:j

    Every little helps;)
  • Not free but got 3 John Frieda items on 342 and used SB £2.50 and 2 QK £1.25 so cost about £3 for the lot.

The So Beautiful you can only use the £2.50 on professional haircare, John Frieda is 342 @ the moment with prices starting at £4.48. If you bought 3 £13.44 minum the free one £8.96. You can then use the £2.50 SB & 2 £1.25 quits = £3.96 a bargain if you use JF. Obviuosly if you have H&B you canb knock another £2.50 off.

Second shop was a bit annoying, i wanted to try some Healthcare stuff cos I have a load of vouchers to use. So I picked up two Durex Play tubes at £3.48 and £3.49, some Gaviscon handy pack for £1.39 and a couple of gardening bits. Tried to use the £2 off Health wys £8 and a £1 off Health wys £4. Picked the young lad (of course) but he wouldnt take the £2 off, said I hadn't met the minimum spend. I'm sure I was right

Been thinking since about why this didn't work, on my receipt the £2.00 voucher is listed but then he actually voided it again himself, I'm assuming this means the till was happy to accept it and it was his decision not to?

I think he must have counted the total H&B spend AFTER BOGOF and of course that wouldn't meet the £8 minimum spend, but while we all know that the system refers to your spend pre-BOGOF discount would you challenge this if your vouchers are refused for this reason? Would you explain to the SA about how it works, or just try again with another SA? Not quire sure how to get around this one without making myself look like some kind of scammer

I am very new to this site and I've spent lots of time reading the posts! Oh boy, am I green with envy about how you guys manage to shop!!

I have been sussing out some of the links and I've signed up for lots of freebies sites (especially baby stuff as daughter is pregnant and strapped for cash).

I consider myself to be quite a savvy shopper - over the last couple of weeks I've found lots of 'whoopsies' on Asda baby stuff because of damaged packaging (always check that packs are complete and no items missing!). Baby vests, sleepsuits, baby shoes all bought at very silly prices! I buy 'whoopsies' of items that can be bought and frozen on the same day - especially bread (we have a liking for the expensive breads (more than £1.00 per loaf) but I NEVER pay more than 30p each for them. I even split loaves in half before freezing (that way you don't find it going stale before each half is used up). My favourites are the whoopsies on curries at the end of the day - often down to around 29p each (got about 6 of them in the freezer at the moment).

There a couple of things that have got me confused though:

Where do you get all your money off coupons from?

What do all the abbreviations mean? (H&B/SB/QK etc)

Willing (and VERY eager) to learn how to save money as legitimatley as possible :j

I'd use a different sa and hope the next one was not such a jobsworth!

I didn't do so well today either so will be returning items tomorrow.. didn't even get the coupons I should have done put through - not a single H&B, SB or Quit.. gutted or what? lol

    H&B - Health & Beauty
    SB - So Beautiful
    QK - Quit Pack

All available in store.. if you are lucky!

Other money off coupons can be found in the newspapers and magazines - there are threads worth checking daily for both.

The best way to learn how to use these coupons is to read the first page of this thread. You'll soon get the hang of it all. ;)
