I am very new to this site and I've spent lots of time reading the posts! Oh boy, am I green with envy about how you guys manage to shop!!

I have been sussing out some of the links and I've signed up for lots of freebies sites (especially baby stuff as daughter is pregnant and strapped for cash).

I consider myself to be quite a savvy shopper - over the last couple of weeks I've found lots of 'whoopsies' on Asda baby stuff because of damaged packaging (always check that packs are complete and no items missing!). Baby vests, sleepsuits, baby shoes all bought at very silly prices! I buy 'whoopsies' of items that can be bought and frozen on the same day - especially bread (we have a liking for the expensive breads (more than £1.00 per loaf) but I NEVER pay more than 30p each for them. I even split loaves in half before freezing (that way you don't find it going stale before each half is used up). My favourites are the whoopsies on curries at the end of the day - often down to around 29p each (got about 6 of them in the freezer at the moment).

There a couple of things that have got me confused though:

Where do you get all your money off coupons from?

What do all the abbreviations mean? (H&B/SB/QK etc)

Hi and welcome to the thread!

Best place to find vouchers round our neck of the woods is Prescot Tesco Extra. Lots of nice SA's there who will scan anything!

Also check out the Boots thread on 'Grabbit while you can'. Sign up for their parenting club and they send you lots of vouchers.

Many thanks for that Liverbird! Prescot Tesco isn't far from me - think daughter shops there regular but I don't know if she's clooed up on the coupons - I very much doubt it  .

I've already signed up for the Boots parenting club (twice!) in my name and in daughter's name - I AM learning from reading these boards :j .

Have also signed up for most of the stuff on the freebies board - though some of them appear to be out of date because some pages wouldn't load at all - never mind, got lots to be going on with!!

This one is actually a good one as it scans on a lot of other washing powders (not tablets!), such as the Tesco own brand 2 in 1 powder, which is £1.00 ;)

If you use the machines in store, you can opt out of the parenting club, go in the next day, sign up and get the vouchers again... I do it everytime I go to boots... lol

Great Idea, but they may say you can only use 1 voucher per product (ie. Wash and go, Tesco own brand etc...)

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHHHA - take that evil Mr Tesco (big raspberries being blown in his direction).

I went to a different store and they were so so busy (and it is so so massive) and I was going to go through a self scan to use some MoCs I'd been collecting, but oh no! No self scan!! Soooo, went up and down trying to find a young girl, finally found one, bless her little cotton socks :D

    OKwhat I got:

    2 x Dove shower wash (@2.94 each I think)
    2 x Herbal Essances (@2.98 each)

    And then I also got:
a swede, a turnip, a carrot (which I am slightly annoyed about as the daft bint put it through as an organic one so it cost me 17p for one carrot! ), a butternut squash, 4 baking pots, and a packet of (yummy yummy looking) donuts as an extra special treat for him indoors as he was up all night making stuff for work.

Got to till and did the whole 'hello, how are you' big big smiles thing, then a combo of my last visit and being totally and utterly knackered I couldn't make eye contact at all had to concentrate on just getting things into my bags. Half way through she wondered what the turnip was so we had a nice little chat about how to cook turnip, then she asked for the total (£9.46) and I handed her a little pile of coupons muttering 'can you just try these please' trying to look as not bothered as possible. And she just scanned all of them straight away!!!! :D there was 1 x £2.50, 2 x £1.25 and 2 x £1.00 which meant the final to pay was 2.46!!!!! Amazing..I chuckled to myself hehe. Was a hairy moment after I had given the coupons and she had scanned them thuogh that she asked for my CC and I said I didn't have it (which I didn't) and she sort of faultered...argh I thought. but no it went through I got lots of change for my £10 note back and skipped out a happy bunny.

Haven't the bottle to go for the MoCs yet, but have to go back to nasty store for new coupon now as there weren't any in the nice store, and they have self scan there so I might try and use the MOCs there...

Quick recap in easy format for scanners:

    2 X Dove Shower Wash @ £2.28
    2 x Herbal Essances @ £2.98
    Swede
    Potatos
    Turnip
    Donuts
    Squash
    Carrot
    Onions

    Total = £14.72
    - BOGOF = £9.46
    - coupons:
    1 x £2.50 H&B
    2 x £1.00 H&B
    2 x £1.25 Quit
    = £2.46 to pay :D

    :beer::T
(forgot to say, whilst annoyed at the carrot, only in a jokey way, as the rest of the money off was fabo :D and was rather sweet sa so not complaining bless her :D )
Do not feed the trolls please.

Got some E-Bay vouchers so I managed to get H&B plus SB AND part of QK!!
Now I have got toiletries and freebies! Its worth looking at what on E-Bay, some sellers also include the 50 points voucher LOL. Saves petrol and hassle. Got mine from seller offering 10 h&B sheets plus additional worth £144.00 off AND 500 points. imho the people selling them don't know the true value of what they have opr too scared to try it LMFAO
