Hi, been trying to follow this thread for a while and trying to get my head round it.....blimey, you guys are good at the maths aren't you?

Yes, this is one of the unexpected side effects of couponing, your mental maths becomes pin sharp, you become an expert at going round the aisles, totting up your shopping as you go along and working out how many coupons you might be able to use!

I think the ones that are worth £2.58 (to get the free 8 packs) are dated till 31st July but the 50p ones are dated to 30th Sept. I think thats where confusion lies cos people are mentioning the 50p ones and not the £2.58 ones. HTH Also someone else mentioned that actually contacting danone would be better than buzz cos buzz have just said bad luck to some people and blamed the postal strike. So that might be worth a try.

ooo thanks for this. I have just rechecked my coupons that they sent me, thinking they were all September dates but as you say the free pack ones for £2.58 were only valid until 31st July, really annoying becuase I was in Tesco last night but only doing a very little shop.
I know it cant be the postal strike because I only had the emails from them a few days ago to say the pack was on its way. Wonder which is the right address to right to, maybe the London one at the bottom of the coupon?

Thinking of what someone said yesterday about buying what we actually need rather than just buying the same stuff over and over again, I bought today Barbara Daly face lift make up which smells lovely and it has the usual anti aging, light reflecting particles and SPF 10. I got it once because I had a points coupon for Barbara Daly but because its £6 Id not replced it when my jar ran out.
I also got Ultimate sun protection SPF 30 which was on a hanging thing - 2 hours protection after water, 5 star, photostable, anti aging etc. Its in a 75ml squeeze tube so useful for sticking in a corner of your bag and not too perfumed so my lads wont object to using it. Only £1.47 so a good one for topping your total up to over £10.
I also thought that if you get extra coupons off it might be an idea to include a few cans of pet food in your shopping. Every pet rescue centre in the country accepts donations of pet food but you might also find your supermarket has a collecting point for pet food cans - our Asda and Pets at Home both do.
Also thinking ahead it wont be long before we start filling the Christmas shoe boxes again and I always include things like tooth brushes and soap. I think some of them have restictions about fluids now so I dont know what other toiletries we could include, not sure about toothpaste. Does anyone know what could be put in the boxes

  • Hello,

Congrats to Bobbykins.... I did it too yesterday!!!!

Very scary, no studenty lads on checkouts, lots of supervisor types wandering around too!!!!!!

However, with the help of my toddler (distraction aid!!!) I did my first mega coupon shop. I used:

    £4 off £40 shop
    1 x £2.50 H&B
40p colgate (Bought Milk teeth at 43p)
    1 x £1.25 QK
    1 x £1 H&B
    50 extra points

Chickened out when SA said "Oh, not seen these before!"
I bought 4 x Herbal essence, 2 x Palmolive handwash, milk teeth & tescos tampons, as well as lots of other stuff that I needed anyway. Not quite free but I will try again before vouchers expire.
Was maybe not as good as some of you experts out there but believe me it is a work in progress!!! I will return!:D
    Piggypoints-749&325 ~ Boots AC-849 ~ Nectar-688 ~ £2 coins-£216 banked since July 07 ~ Tesco CC-(saving for Florida)£832
    2008 comping total~£315!

I've been buying loads of the Berry toothpaste reduced to 10p [can also still use a 40p coupon against these] and some of the reduced kiddies toothbrushes. There is a dragon shaped one reduced to 19p at the moment.

Is it worth buying these even though I wont use them or is there other things you can use them for like the H+B Vouchers?

    Thanks in advance

No, never any point buying stuff you dont really need to get points, well not this quantity anyway. You could try going over to PTS or the couponswap and asking if anyone would like to do a like for like swap
    eg
200 Points WYB HIPP Organic Follow On Milk (Wouldnt Buy) to swap for four 50 pointers for Health and Beauty.
I think you would get quite a lot of interest. Its the start of a new quater and I think everyone is now building up their points totals again

Or you could try selling all your excess ones on ebay. I dont know wether it is better to do this singuarly or in groups of twos or even all in one lump. I did this, quite a long while ago, sold about 6 points vouchers together which I could never have used up, and got about £12.

On the bottom left of page is a link for ask a question, this then gives you an email address, Id do this myself. Also I wonder wether these £2.58 will go through at tesco any way, if the SA didnt notice, tesco still get a while to claim the money back anyway. Worth a try anyway.

    Just had a nice H&B shop; got 2xSlimfast drums; 4xDove; 5xValue Toothpaste.

Got home and realised I forgot to use the 40p QK coupons!! grrrrrrr, never mind though, got it all for under a pound. :)

Have also completly run out of NSS MOCs now...roll on the DM coupon!

Lady in front of me got a till-spit - 30pts on baby wipes (i think; was reading upside down)

P.S. Also picked up 19 QK from petrol station to keep me going.
