Just a quickie post for people short on coupons to use in Tesco. I go to the carboot every sunday (addicted to bargains, what can I say
) and today a lady was selling a pile of magazines for 10p each. It sprung into my mind that they could possibly have money off coupons in so bought 5 for 50p.
Got them home and was amazed! One magazine was last months Sainsbury mag that normally costs £1.20, got loads of coupons out of that and the others were all Pick m eup or Real People, and all were only a few weeks old (important!)
Anyway, long story short, total coupons I cut out came to £5.60!
A definite bargain and I shall be looking out for more next sunday tooStopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -
please enlighten us, why £14 spend on HB? why not £10 or £20? sorry, can't get my maths around this one.
it doesn't seem to be a good time for perfume shop as the SB won't allow for combining.
If you buy John Frieda products, they come to roughly £8 and £1ish to pay after vouchers. I have practically got 1 of each different John Frieda product that Tesco stock! :rotfl:

Hi all,
I spotted a post on PTS that said that the SB 70p off Palmolive works on the dove bodywash on BOGOF. As I have no H&B at all this was a godsend. I went into a Tesco and managed this:
Item cost per item quantity total
dove £2.28 x 8 = £18.24
total of goods £18.24
vouchers voucher amount quantity
bogof £9.12
QK £1.25 x 3 = £3.75
Palmolive 70p x 8 £5.60
total money off £18.47
total to pay (profit in red) -£0.23
Just wish I could get a hold of some H&B> Hope this helps those of you out there in my position.
PS if you have the nerve to try 10, add another 2 palmolive and another QK £1.25, you can make a profit of 60p0 -
See thats the problem - it's not a game for us - we are seriously seriously skint at the moment to the point we are really struggling to eat, so this is a serious 'oh, we can afford some real food and perhaps a treat' thing for us right now.
I might give it another go - to be honest, we don't need H&B things, so I'm only getting them to get the credit up to take money off the rest of my shopping (ie get some food for a few pence after discount comes off), so I'd like to go and try the £10 H&B shop, but it seems a bit pointless as thats not what we need, we need food....
I know I should toughen up and not let it upset me but things are so vile at the moment that little things like being called a thief (one of the reasons we are so hard up is because we refuse to take benefits (in our eyes this is stealing off tax payers for us, as we are able to work and..it's a long story - I am not having a go at anyone else who claims benefits, we don't have an issue with people who really need it, it's long and complex our thoughts on it, just please don't take offence at that thinking, and I only said it to explain that we really are not dishonest or trying to steal)) really really upset me. I know I have to pull myself together....
Will maybe try tomorrow.
(PS this wasn't a go at the quoted person, that just hit my brain as explaining why I was so pathetic and upset at what happened, sorry if I come across as shouty at all, not aimed at you the brow)
sorry to hear about yr situation and much respect to u coping it with dignity.
if what u need is food rather than HB, then u need mocs, which can pay towards food. go to https://www.couponnet.co.uk, u can download coupons for free, but u can only print them out about twice of each i think. maybe phone up a few nearby t to check out their coupon policy first. some stores doesn't like internet coupon.0 -
If you are after moc, as well as the site suggested by vellum pigsback have started putting some on their site, and I have found I can print off as many as I like, also join buzz agent as the packs often come with moc to try products. Also have you looked at the try me free page (I think it is at the top of the freebies board). Also try www.mumplusone.com as they sometimes have some printable vouchers for food and drink. Hope this helps xxx0

£14 because i put up my coupon bundles in £7's which on a £10 shop gives you £2 off other stuff, but as i am in and out of the stores fairly quick, instead of spending time looking for other stuff i just do £14 H and B......using £2.50, 2 x£1.25, 2 x£1.i realise by spending £15 i could use another £1,25, and by spending £16 another 2 x £1....but when the clampdown to one of each came, i decided lesser amounts was better.
£14 HB gives me it all free without too many of the same coupons.Couponing....."every little hurts"

I agree in a few days time too the new daily mail £4 book tokens are out so maybe stock up on a few of these too and hopefully some magazines if we start to get some good MOCs again. You could easily add a couple to a health and beauty shop as you would be buying them anyway so would hopefully get the health and beauty shop for free and in the process get £8 or £12 in coupons to use towards your months groceries.
We are in the same sort of position as you, where since i gave up work to have our children money has been a lot tighter. I find our food shopping has been the most affected as it is one of the only bills you can actually reduce so finding this website as well as PTS has been a life saver and I definately would never look back now.
In all honesty I have probably be doing this for the best part of a year now and my confidence has more then trebled since I started but trust me even the thickest skinned most confident experienced people get setbacks too. I still occasionally chose the wrong cashier. Sometimes i come away feeling so annoyed with myself as because I'm not used to such bills now it does bother you when you end up paying close to full price for something. But for every bad shop I have found I have 20 - 25 good ones. I also wouldn't be able to afford to go on holiday next year if it wasn't for Mr T and Tesco clubcard points so I am extremely grateful.:DCompetition wins - 09/03 - £500 ELC Vouchers 11/04 - Lush Goodies 21/04 - Gillette Fusion Gift Pack 22/05 - Mirrors DVD 29/05 - Return Flights to London & £500 29/05 - £50 Homebase Gift Vouchers 20/09 - Remote Control Helicopter 28/09 - £225 Bingo Win 05/10 £25 Photobox Vouchers 16/09 £90 Cash 30/11 £29 Cash 03/01 £20 03/04 Fifa Football :T0 -
Firstly - well done princesskerry you are still going!
I have just been catching up properly as have not been able to get on for last few days and would like to say to pixie that I have had problems to when trying to do a larger h&B shop. I have found though that it always goes through ok just doing £10 (before bogof) of h&b at a time. I know it takes longer but am yet to have one refused.0 -
Ragtimeplayer - just wanted to say thanks for your good advice!

To the people who can't seem to find any
Would a posting on the local freecycle site asking for information about any local Tesco with stock be cheaper than the petrol driving to various stores?
Won't do anymore til the new lot of BOGOFS come out as the only thing that i really needed in the last lot of shopping was mouthwash
