Right, well, that told me. I am apparently a 'Theif' for daring to try to use 1 (yes, thats ONE) £2.50 off coupon on my £30 shop (with £20 of that being H&B before Bogofs).
How F-ing dare he?!!! He said 'you can only use coupons if youare buying the item' to which I replied, well, I am - and proceeded to point to my shopping bag stuff full of palmolive, herbal essences, sunsilk, toothpaste etc etc to which he replied (all in very broken english I might like to point out - surely a pre-requisite of working in a customer services/meeting the public role is to be able to talk to them??) 'No, you can only use the voucher if you have brought the item and you have not, so you are trying to steal and are a theif'!! I promptly tipped out the carrier bag of items on the belt and said -'look - I have purchased all this, which clearly is more than £10 worth and is clearly H&B' (I refrained from adding 'you idiot, I was feeling polite despite the red mist over my eyes). I added in that a friend who works for Tesco told me it was ok to use coupons even if you hadn't brought the item, but in this case I clearly had, so I didn't understand his problem. He insisted I had to pay for everything so I told him to void it as I hadn't come out with enough money then, and he had to call a supervisor. Bless the supervisor - he hadn't a clue what was going on. The check out guy said he wanted to void it, I said I didn't understand why he wouldn't take my coupon and why he called me a thief and the supervisor (who was being called in about 5 different directions) looked so flustered bless him. He just voided the shop and I left.
You can keep your stupid Tesco is how I feel at the moment - no wonder they have huge profits, they rip people off and don't even honor their own promisies. Complete a****holes if you ask me. I'm going to complain, but from what I see on the various boards there doesn't seem to be much point as they probably just won't even respond to me. Am really really upset now. Hateful company.Do not feed the trolls please.0 -

oh dear pixiepie - big hug - unfortunately, this happens quite alot but for every upsetting episode there is also a success story. Tomorrow is another voucher opportunity and although you feel like avoiding Tescos today - do try to go back and use your vouchers. Not every SA is like that I on my travels I have met several very pleasant SAs who seemed geninuely pleased with my voucher savings.
Welshy xI am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL

Well said. The way you are feeling now is all part of the highs and lows of it pixiepie. Once you've calmed down hopefully determination will then take over and off you will go again. I split our shop into two small shops last week and my OH was at one checkout and I was at the other. We both had exactly the same coupons and went through exactly at the same time. Mine went through no problem but the SA for my OH was so rude and aggressive the SA ended up calling the security guard and had my OH chucked out the store because my OH dared to query why the SA wouldn't take any of the coupons. Next day my OH went back in again, got a different SA who happily took every single one of them. (My OH has a very thick skin as you can tell).0 -

"stealing" "thief" these are very serious words and have legal implication, anyone works in a customer service environment will be very careful with words like that. it is unbelievable for the sa to say that to u.
many couponers here have negative experience but the gain we get far outweights the occasional set backs. we need to develop a much thicker skin and stronger confidence, as my OH said, not everybody have the bottle to do it and it is an achievement in its own way.
the best revenge is to do more shops. maybe stay away from that store for a while? wouldn't bother to complaint, t's customer service is not always consistent and reliable. whenever i have setbacks or upset by sa/cs, i went home and stared at my beautiful toiletry freebies and think those jobworth have to buy most stuffs when i get them free. that is satisfying and cheer me up.0
