if you fall off your bike, you get back on!! Its only a game and i want to win!!!!

See thats the problem - it's not a game for us - we are seriously seriously skint at the moment to the point we are really struggling to eat, so this is a serious 'oh, we can afford some real food and perhaps a treat' thing for us right now.

I might give it another go - to be honest, we don't need H&B things, so I'm only getting them to get the credit up to take money off the rest of my shopping (ie get some food for a few pence after discount comes off), so I'd like to go and try the £10 H&B shop, but it seems a bit pointless as thats not what we need, we need food....

I know I should toughen up and not let it upset me but things are so vile at the moment that little things like being called a thief (one of the reasons we are so hard up is because we refuse to take benefits (in our eyes this is stealing off tax payers for us, as we are able to work and..it's a long story - I am not having a go at anyone else who claims benefits, we don't have an issue with people who really need it, it's long and complex our thoughts on it, just please don't take offence at that thinking, and I only said it to explain that we really are not dishonest or trying to steal)) really really upset me. I know I have to pull myself together....

    Will maybe try tomorrow.
(PS this wasn't a go at the quoted person, that just hit my brain as explaining why I was so pathetic and upset at what happened, sorry if I come across as shouty at all, not aimed at you the brow :) )

Tescos own childrens fruity toothpaste now reduced to 41p.....so 1p each after using the Colgate voucher from the quit kit! I always put my toothpaste through first.....then if you get an SA that likes to check you bought toothpaste then its at the top of the bill and conveniently at the bottom of your shopping bag! :D

    No offense taken.

But I always have the mentality that coupon acceptance in a bonus and not a right.

With the H&B you have to get vibe of that particular store and their sa's.

Why dont you reply with the area you are located and MSE could PM you with successes at stores in your area? - Without naming the good stores of course!

Theres Tesco spy's out there Fawlty

Many thanks for not taking offense :o I agree it's a bonus in general, but a right to take one coupon off a legitimate shop - seems like false advertising to me otherwise and something rather underhand and wrong.

If anyone wants to PM me with nice success stories they are more then welcome :D I'm in North London, be interesting to see if it's a location thing as well (or I'll post my vouchers to my brother who lives more North than me lol)

  • Not such a good day today

tried to get the Multibionatic vitamins for the reduction

First one i went into the SA called over the supervisor and said that the £1 healthcare could only be used for the products pictured on the coupon, to which i said that it says any healthcare product, to which her response was we can only accept coupons upto a maximum of 50% of your shop.

Strange how a different Tescos allowed me more than that yesterday

Went back to the successful store to try and get the stuff, response was the same

so either will need a very bored SA not to notice, or that Mr T's definition of healthcare doesn't include vitamins unless it says so on the coupon

They would allow the £2 Quit plus 1 of the £1 H&B so it would give each pack for 60p which is not good but it is cheaper than elsewhere
Debt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO

Lately, I have cut down on my tescoing as some will have noticed and now approach the SA with the attitude - oh well if it's not accepted then OK. I try to get my shopping for my budget (excluding voucher savings) even though sometimes it spans 2 trolleys, then I am not disappointed and over budget when on the rare occasions that my vouchers are refused.

I'll have to check my points vouchers as I think I had some for vitamins and vaseline

Been out everynight this week, only used 2 stores, done 43 x £22 combined (£14 HB(£7/£8coupons) and £8 HC(£4 coupons)) for a total cost of around £21.............ranging from 0p to £2.22(messed up here but took it to CS for refund)

Only had one refusal, and that was my own fault..............

Still havent tried this perfume thing....but with loft space slowly disappearing, need some high value small items.

please enlighten us, why £14 spend on HB? why not £10 or £20? sorry, can't get my maths around this one.

it doesn't seem to be a good time for perfume shop as the SB won't allow for combining.
