First Direct improving Internet Banking

First Direct have finally started to make improvements to their internet banking, starting with the payments section. One thing I would have liked to see is 'pending BACS/direct debit payments', however as mentioned, they have further changes to come over the next few weeks.

If you use Internet Banking in the coming weeks you might notice we've given our Payments area a bit of a makeover. We've taken on board your feedback to make managing payments even simpler.
To start with, we're changing the layout of the payments screen, with a clear step-by-step guide to each type of payment you may wish to make. But we haven't stopped there...
- you'll be able to change the reference that identifies a payment each time you pay a bill or make a payment to someone you've paid before
- you'll be able to delete details of previous payments that you've made
- you'll be able to view future pending payment amounts for standing orders on the mandate details page
- you'll be able to set-up or amend standing orders straight away, (rather than it taking around 2 days). This excludes changes to your Mortgage payments which will remain unchanged.
We're making a number of other changes as well and we think you'll find them just as helpful. We're introducing the changes in the next few weeks, so look out for the demos coming soon.

Let's hope they improve the uptime as well. The number of times I've seen that wretched "Sorry, we cannot complete your request at the moment" message...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

That mostly happens to me when I'm using their iphone app.
I've also noticed that new accounts appear on my iphone app before web banking. So, I have opened credit card and ISA accounts in the last few weeks - both showed up on my iphone app a good 24 hours before logging on using their website.
I'm happy with them though.Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0 -
Hmm - the inability to be able to delete payees used to be a good excuse to trigger the '£100 if you don't like us' payment...
I have complained about this loads of times to be told that if I want to pay a second invoice from the same supplier there is no option but to set up a new payee and that the only way to then manage my out of hand payee list is to telephone to ask to have the list managed - how on earth was this overlooked during the original web development nd why has it taken so long for them to bother to fix it?I think....0 -
I wish they would show more transactions on the screen.
Nat West,Santander and Halifax are much better when it comes to looking at statements.0 -
I value good CS over gimmicks any day.
It's good to see they are now implementing these changes but lets just hope HSBC isn't going to offshore the Customer Services as a side effect so that FD's CS becomes as useless as their own or that of M&S BankInterests: PCs. servers, networks, mobiles and music (esp. trance)0 -

How many do you need to see ? My transactions are currently showing from 18 January 2013 to today. I can also look at past statements that show a full month.0 -
Click on Show All at the bottom of the statement screen.Interests: PCs. servers, networks, mobiles and music (esp. trance)0

Years ago on another forum, someone was saying that they could see that their salary was due to be paid into their bank account the next day when they logged in. I'd love to be able to see future payments too with First Direct. I know a lot of transactions take place about the 2 am time so they could show them."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

When I banked with HSBC I could see my salary in pending payments 24 hours before it was credited.
I would have thought its viable to introduce this with first direct.0
