  • Hi All,

I was shocked when I saw my credit rating. Lloyds TSB (who have been my easiest creditors to deal with through Payplan) have been the ones that have trashed my credit rating the most. It almost screams at you!

I was having such a nice bath tonight and my son took a lovely call from what sounded like creation. Now what would they want with me, unless they are calling to tell me that the interest they have now decided to charge have been cancelled!! I doubt it. The only other thing it might be is that they dont recognise that I am on a dmp now as I pay more than the minimum payment they require so I am sure it will be a courtesy call to tell me I owe them money - AS IF I DIDNT KNOW ALREADY! 2 1/2 years and they still try and do you over. It never ends! I only owe them £800, but they act like its £80,000! Maybe I shouldnt be so cynical but I cant help it. I know I will have to explain that I have been with Payplan and my payments go through them blah blah blah will probably get lots of promises that they will change in a week!

Sorry I cant help with legal action. I was promised that MBNA was selling my debt on no less than 7 times (which I was praying for to get a better negotiation) but it never happened and MBNA still play games here and there.......

    Good luck

I am having trouble with one company I only have 7 payments left with my records with theres its 9 since they have lost 2! They wrote asking me to raise payments so it can finish in a "reasonable" length of time. So I threatened them with the OFT if they don't find the other two payments and told them 7 months was more than "reasonable" enough!

  • Evening all,

Just a quick question - does anyone know how long it takes payplan after you have made the first payment to contact your creditors with a payment, offer of payment and income and expenditure etc???

Keep getting phonecalls. Have been brave and called Lloyds and MBNA back as they left text message type things and they believe it or not they were actually quite helpful and have noted calls down. Not sure the next person who calls will be a nice but hey I feel better for responding and not ignoring the calls now :-)

Hope everyone is well and having a nice evening x
  • Bumping this up....

For some strange reason my post has gone on but it has left it in same place from this mornings posts made post rather than back to first page rather than move it to new posts. Confusing...
  • Hi SortingIt

I remember the first payment getting to them quite quickly, but the only thing I never got to find out (and still dont unless I ring Payplan and ask) is when your creditors decline your offer. They still get the payment that Payplan sets up for them and you will still get calls. I have two creditors who have NEVER acknowledged Payplan or a DMP 2 1/2 years later, this is only because what they were getting was higher than the minimum payment. In their eyes, I was not in "financial difficulty". If you get calls now, stick to you guns and be firm when you say you are a registered DMP user with Payplan, offer your ID number (this will be etched on your brain forever!) and keep the number of your case officer handy. Some creditors will tell you that they "dont call anyone else" or "are not allowed to do that", but be firm and explain that they have received signed authorisation via your I&E from Payplan to allow them to do this. Its tough setting it up, but the calls should stop. MBNA were my worst and still are and although the money left my account on the 1st of the month, would not hit my account with them until the 26th !!! This month it has hit on the 12th for the first time ever. It seems someone somewhere has read my letter of complaint.

on MBNA again, after receiving another letter saying they would be responding by 11th December I have penned a rather firm letter to them today outlining a further mistake on my account last month and also that I have drafted a report to the Financial Ombudsman. I have also requested that if they send any payment refunds I dont want it to say "goodwill gesture" I strictly request "final offer with satisfactory credit agreement end" (in order to keep credit rating okay). I have now given them 7 days in which to complete this. I have said that if I dont receive any reply within 7 days of the date of the letter I will forward the documentation and complaint and request for refund of charges directly to the Ombudsman. I am not giving up on this.

Also, (sorry this is a long post, must be hormonal! ha ha) I am nearly at the end of my Payplan agreement. Obviously some of my statements do not reflect what the estimate remaining is on my Payplan account. Has anyone had any experience with finishing off DMP's through Payplan and how good are the negotiating tactics of Payplan when closing accounts? Any advice would be much appreciated.

  • Hi Jilly,

Thanks very much for your post. It has answered a lot of questions for me. Sounds like you are having a mare with MBNA - I most def will be keeping an eye on this account as from your posts and others they aren't that helpful.

It's great that you are almost coming to an end of your plan. It's fantastic that you will be finishing it hopefully within 3 years. I bet that is an amazing feeling? Have you just stuck to your payments and been saving like mad along side etc. I hope to finish mine a lot earlier with cutting back etc but right now I just want it up and running. Do I sound impatient???

  • Hello folks,

I am mow into month four and all creditors have now accepted and are accepting payments. Morgan Stanley (now goldfish) were last to accept and have said they will charge interest at 3% - they called did not call it an arrangement like other creditors - anyone else any expereinces with Morgan Stanley?
  • As anyone had HFC has a creditor and been able to have an arrangement in place longer than 6 months? Most posts suggest this creditor takes legal action after 6 months. Anyone had arrnagement longer?
  • Disaster! Another electrical device has gone to the dogs! I have just had to reduce the payments to payplan to cover the cost of it. Nightmare. No such luck with getting finished in March now, it will be more like May. Gutted!

I am so excited to get to the end SortingIt, but it seems to be the longest time this last few months. I spoke to Creation Financial again yesterday after getting a letter for instant payment demand for being in arrears. I spoke to a nice lady who confirmed that as I now pay more than the minimum payment I cannot be accepted on a plan, even though they have frozen interest for 18 months now. I told her how lovely it was to be considered a "normal" customer but how on earth was I meant to complete the DMP when they take backward steps. Not sure where to turn to get that one fixed, anyone got any ideas??? as I am on firm letter writing mode I thought I could do one for that.

Nearly Friday anyway and I cant wait for the weekend. I have £4.56 to last me til payday next Friday and another week of my poor son having to have the strangest concoctions for tea everynight from the depths of the freezer and the back of the cupboard, tonight it was omelette with hotdogs! I tell you roll on the days I can get a ready made meal from M&S!
