The phone calls tend to continue until they have received proposals etc.. from the DMP and all departments have got the information that they need.
Sainsburys only contacted me for the first few weeks and once they'd got the proposals through they've stopped calling.
I never heard anything at all from Littlewoods but I guess that might happen now I've cancelled the DD.
I found it best to answer the calls, explain the situation and as long as you're polite with them I've found them to be okay with me. They do ask if you can make a payment but just stand your ground if you can't make it then don't. I didn't find it as bad as some people have on here but we're all different I used to work for a bank so I'm familiar with the process (a little anyway)_
Oh... and I certainly don't work for a bank now!! LOL :rotfl:
Sit tight and if you're not sure post on here I'm sure we can give you lots of support0 -
thanks for ur advice. also do all companies except DMP. i think thats my biggest worry. one of my cards we used this week will this make it harder for them to except the DMP.sorry for all the questions as im really nervous about all this even thou i know this is the best thing ive done.0

Most companies will try and help you - I can't say if all companies will accept as I'm fairly new to it myself and I'm sorry I have to say the same about you using the card. I don't think it will have that much of an impact at the beginning but maybe some others on here might be able to help on that. I had no credit available so I couldn't use mine.
One of the reasons I went for it was due to the success lots of people seem to be having with them. Who's arranging the DMP for you?0 -
Hi all,
I thought I'd just have a quick look at my accounts to see how things were going. I know HSBC haven't accepted my offer with CCCS and I am awaiting HSBC to default me and pass me to DCA however I've just noticed the charges stacking up!
I am (or may be 'was' - well I know it soon will be 'was') a premier customer which meant I had preferential rates on o/d interest etc.. However I've just been checking my statements and my interest is as follows:
Aug: £45.17 Sept: £77.28 Nov: £87.58
Now the balance hasn't changed much at all - so how come it's increased like that - could it be that they are disguising the over the limit fee within the interest amount and that includes a £35 penalty. I haven't received any notification of the breakdown so I'm going to speak with them in the morning.
And on top of that... they've been charging the £25 to return the SO that pays for the loan which is on the DMP and they wont cancel. So interest charges I'll take but when I add up the other charges they've increased my debt by £145 all on their own!!!!!
Do you think I should attempt to reclaim or just accept it??
Now that's my rant over -sorry guys. No one else really knows about my situation so it's hard to share my frustration.

Itsnowtime I also have issues with HSBC, DH and I have 3 accounts with them all overdrawn, we started a DMP last year and they are still charging us interest so our debt is increasing every month. Our CCCS payments are half the interest that is being charged.
I'm hoping that they get passed on soon, as DH's formal OD agreement has been withdrawn.
So despite paying for over a year because of the HSBC we still owe (if not more) the same amount.
I'm hoping the Bank Charge case goes the right way as I have a claim for 6K across all 3 accounts which would help clear a lot.
I don't have the energy to earn anymore money at the moment, I've a 7 month old so prefer to spend time with her, especially as I go back to work full-time on the 7th January.

MadDogWoman - I hope the court case gets sorted soon aswell. They have just removed my o/d limit so I'm hoping that that will mean it gets passed on pretty quickly. Glad to hear I'm not the only one... Good Luck
juliesg - with regards to Dexter Bell Associates I haven't heard of them - but are they charging you for the DMP? If they are, you may want to look at Payplan or CCCS - they don't charge a fee as they are a registered charity and this means that all you available disposable income that can be paid to your debt will be sent to your creditors.
Good luck all - our positive strides continue!!!!0 -
Hi everyone feels like ages since I came in here will try to catch up! On my DMP front everything is the same bar the fact I sent out a letter telling one DCA that they were in breech of not sending me a signed credit agreement fingers crossed this gets sorted soon!0

The query about using credit cards just before going on a DMP - I did this. GE Money wrote immediately after receiving DMP notification and told me they wouldn't accept the DMP because I'd used the card. After they received the second payment from the DMP they wrote and said they would accept it.
So don't panic too much. Some will say Nope. Then when they start to get actual money via the DMP and that you have stopped using the cards since then, they can change their mind
As for HSBC, glad I was with First Direct part of them now. They immediately accepted and reduced interest to about 6% (instead of about 19%). For some others, they have stopped interest completely but they won't do it for me. On the other hand, out of the over £600 interest a month I was paying - now I'm only paying that 6% to FD which is about £40 a month - and so my debt is going down now.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Good morning all. Hope all is well with you all! I into 2nd month of DMP and although all was silent with creditors, have been getting calls from MBNA, although DMC informed me they have accepted, all other OK I think.
The thing that most scares me is if creditors go for a CO on my property, I don't know why I'm afraid, but I am.
Good luck all.Long Hauler No: 51
