  • Hello everyone and thanks for reply Sortingit.

Well, still no passcode from CCCS for me, so it's a bit frustrating not being able to look at my plan online. The only company I've heard from is Moorcroft who said they had taken on my egg card debt. The chap said that they dealt with CCCS all the time (quelle surprise) and was quite shocked when I said we would be offering about 50 per month (not the £1 he mentioned).
Anyway - regardless of the fact that I'm a bit in the dark - I DO feel for the first time in ages that I can get out of this mess.
It is slightly odd, not having a credit card but SO refreshing to know that I can't just 'bung it on the plastic'
I think the CCCS etc are going to VERY busy in the future and I'm for one glad if the CC companies get their comeuppance and havet to reduce their profits.

    Have a happy DFW day!

    Hello,
When does it all end
This morning i received a text form MBNA asking me to ring them before 8pm to see if they can help me
BUT...... we had already come to an arrangement of short settlement  I had a telephone conversation with one guy in the 31/10/07 who asked me to make the second instalment. I said i was apprehensive to do so because i hadn't received proper confirmation of our agreement and how was i to know they wouldn't sell the remaining debt or hound me for it again ?? He went onto say as far as MBNA are concerned we have written off that debt and it will be a short settlement etc  Our agreement had been honoured and that was that !!! I said so where is my letter then ?? he said we had sent you a letter i explained no they hadn't but a standard letter wanting the whole amount and your colleague told me to chuck it.
He went onto say i will personally get this letter out to you etc etc.....so like the Muppet i was fell for this charm and paid them  BUT after 5 days they haven't processed this payment !! arrrrr never mind but saying that they will now LOL ;)

I'm so annoyed because they are messing me around and I'm not sure what to do ?? Shall i ring them again only to find i'm repeating myself or send them yet another letter and quoting i have recorded there conversations with me. ((which i have))

They are getting more than they insisted on at the beginning of my DMP to which is only 15 pounds less than there contracted amount.

OH hum aren't MBNA c**p .... i think it's time i played them at there own game

  • Hello again

Sorry, if this has been answered before but I haven't had time to read through all this thread.

Can you still reclaim CC charges if on DMP? I'm thinking of doing this ... would any reclaimed money go into the DMP (happy for that to happen) or would it be a nice windfall if it was successful?

    Thanks
  • hi all,
ym....glad you had a lovely hol and welcome back....but not to work, iykwim..x
    lonely......happy birthday.hope you have a great day and a wonderful year.xx
spendthift....am sure that you can get your charges back even though you are on a dmp.if you are successful, dont think that you have to tell cccs as its not guarranteed income.if its a lot, id save it to pay a debt off on a f+f or as a rainy day fund....cos without c/cards, im afraid they will come,eg if anything major breaks, xmas, hols.good luck.x

  • Afternoon all,

Spendthrift...I am glad you asked the question about reclaiming CC charges as I am thinking of doing the same thing but as DMP hasn't even started I didn't want to rock the boat and upset my creditors any more than I probably already have at the minute!!

Yet again today lots of missed calls from another number on my mobile. Yesterday it was MBNA, I think today it is Halifax as got a letter re missed payment on loan account. Do these people ever read the correspondence sent to them or do you think they are just automated letters??? Anyhow, productively used my lunch break to write letters to them both AGAIN so we shall see what happens. If they ring this evening whilst I am at home then I will speak to them but unfortunately between hours of 6am and 7pm approx I am either on a train, tube, bus or in office and not prepared to speak to them during this!.

Sorry rant over. Hope everyone is having a good day xx
  • Hi ILGD - well that is great! I think I'll do it, even though. as SortingIt says - I don't particularly want to wind them up any further. Having said that, if they hadn't been such robbers in the first place .... round and round it goes.

So far, I haven't had much hassle so I sympathise with you SortingIt, do they leave messages? As I said earlier - the one time I did phone back they were most helpful. But, I have heard that MBNA are the sharks of sharks as it were.
Well, good luck with it ... goes off to download reclaim letters!

Hi all!! We are on a DMP through CCCS (great people!) and one of our creditors is the Royal Bank of Scotland who we have a (largish) loan with. We have Loanguard (insurance) on the loan but now that we are only paying a small amount what happens about this? I would assume that we would never be able to claim on this insurance if anything happened eg unemployment as we are not paying the full amount on the loan and insurance. Could we cancel the insurance to reduce the amount that we owe?

    Any help gratefully received :T

Also just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this site who has helped us getting our debt sorted out with the help of CCCS - it has been such a relief from my first post about telling my husband about all our debt to getting things organised with CCCS. Thank you all

  • Sorry, I'm not really able to help anyone else's queries as I have a few of my own.My husband is just in the process of sorting out his DMP through CCCS (total debt 87k). We are due to make the first payment tomorrow. This week he's received several default notices - should he still call creditors to explain even though CCCS are now dealing with it? It seems wrong to just keep ignoring these letters however tempting that is!!

Will he also still end up with CCJs or will creditors not bother taking him to court as they can see that he is trying to sort out his finances?

Would really appreciate some advice - I'm so desperately worried about all of this and at 10 weeks pregnant could really do without all the stress and uncertainty.
