  • Thanks RedFaced.. I really want this to start in September.. We were lucky in that we have never missed a payment before, and have opened a normal current account with natwest to switch to before we start missing payments and our credit rating goes down hill.

Im sure it will work out okay.. and I guess if it starts in October not September then its not really a big deal.. probably just mean a bit more hassle from creditors until they hear from CCCS.

I haven't sent the CCCS Notification of DMP template letter yet.. Dont know whether to put September or October in Start Date, will have to see how it all pans out and whether I get these required balance's in writing any time soon.

In the past when I have asked for balances on the phone I have never even requested them in writing and they always came through in writing a couple days after anyway.. Typical how when I specifically request it in writing it aint coming lol :rotfl:

Nice to see so many newbies!

Hope you get your account sorted soon redfaced. We had to wait a while for our cahoot account up and running but it was worth it.

    Hi Everyone :D

Welcome to all of our new friends and congratulations on starting your debt free journey!:hello:

Hope everyone is well and not too stressed. I haven't been posting much lately as August is a really busy month for me, but I have been reading all your posts as much as possible.

All is quiet in teecee world :D I had a bit of a scare with Mercers a couple of weeks ago but since sending me a default notice I have received a letter from Barclaycard telling me to keep making DMP payment as my repayments have been accepted and interest has been frozen :T So got myself all worked up for nothing.
I hope everything is going smoothly for you all. Speak Soon ttfn.

    Take Care

  • Hi All,
We, my wife and I, have just started getting to grips with our dept. As you can see from the signature it is a far bit and that does not include the mortgage. (eeeekkk!!).

My biggest fear, has been "what is going to happen next". Thanks to this group, a lot of my worries have already been more grounded. Decided to join for the support I will no doubt need.

I have written to all my creditors and CCCS will take the lead next month. I will let you know how it goes.

Good morning everyone! Just a couple of questions - we are just getting to grips with our debt and will be contacting CCCS to organise a DMP as have filled in the online forms. When should we think about opening another bank account as we have debts with both the banks we are with at the moement RBS and Barclays? ANd can anyone give me an idea of the best banks to go to to open another current account? Thanks for your help.

  • Hi

welcome a steer on timings here. Phoned Coop to open a Basic Account to put wages / dds into, but been told passed to UnderWriter for consideration 2-4 working days (from Thurs just gone)

Got CCCS paperwork, but they want a copy of all the recent statements from our creditors. Doing that this weekend, but they wont receive until around 21st Aug,

So should I continue through Sept as normal, make all the payments (which i can do as OD has some slack in it), and ask CCCS to kick in October?

    Thanks

    Matt

Weemac. If i were you i would start thinking about a new account ASAP as these things can take some time and it is nice to have the safe account opened to pay your wages into without your affiliated creditors getting their hands on it. From a personal point of view i opened a new account as soon as i started on a DMP and that took at least 2 weeks to set up. As for what bank to go with i believe on the Payplan website there is a list of banks and there associated members. Make sure that the bank you open with has no association with Barclays or RBS.

debtfree1day. Can you not send a token payment with a covering letter explaining your situation for the Sep payments ? I did this for mine and when Payplan set me up with my account the payments came out on the 1st of the next month so i had 1 month when my creditors recieved only a token payment of £5. They seemed OK with this as in my letter i explained that i was going through a DMP with Payplan and that they would be contacting them soon and quoted my ref number. Don't know if you have this yet but if you do quote this in your letter.
Do not worry unduly about being refered to the underwriters. This happened to me and in the end it worked out OK and got a current account with the Halifax with a Visa debit card.

Good luck to both of you
