    Hi
    Thank you.
Got a friend who knows about it so I have at least 1 person for a hug :)
I am now seriously thinking about telling my Dad or at least mentionning something. Maybe if I get lucky with a summer job that may help in fending off boredom and getting money too.How did you tell your Mum? What did she say?

It was hard telling my mum and dad but the best thing in the end I felt a big wheight lifted. I just said in converstaion one day on the phone that we had a few debt problems and we just cant afford the minimum payments and it all started from when I was trying to get pregnant ( which got me down so I spent and spent and spent) we went on big holidays etc. I had already spoken to the cccs by this point so at least when I told her I could say we wehere getting good help and dealing with it, but even though she can't help it just made me feel better and someone esle to talk to about it. I felt really embarresed as she always thought I was the one in the family that was sensiable, but she's been really good and not critazized me. I would see how things go on the weekend and just start of by saying about how down you got at uni and made you get into a bit of a mess and then at least you can say that you have been getting help from the cccs and I think he will be pleased to see that you have done something about it.

I know how hard it is trying not to get down about the debt, I have even thought about talking to the samaritans as I just cant get my head round why we did this, I feel like I'm going mad sometimes!!!! but it has happnded and nothing we can do now but get it sorted.

Let us know how you get on, he's your dad and even if he is cross at first remember he loves you and it's only cause he cares.

    xxxxxx

Hello Everyone, Bluediamond calling !!Haven't been on the forum for ages but it is good to be back..I am proud to be counted as one of the first site users when the thread was set up by Kelly95 and the DMp was set up via Payplan ( been great) and so far so good.BUT today the Cheltenham and Gloucester wrote and said that from October 1st they will be Lloyds TSB ! Oh My God..we have Lloyds as one of our dreditors and will they transfer the debt to the mortgage or demand that we do ?I am really angry as we switched to a new 2 yr fixed rate in March when our previous fixed rate finished. Did they tell any of their customers that this was iminent..NO !If I had known I would have gone to A&L who we set up our parachute account with.So annoyed and so wishing that we were never in debt even more. I HATE LLOYDS WITH A VENGEANCE.Hope you are all okay and if there is anyone from the old days reading this a BIG HELLO ! ! !

    Hi Everyone :D

Hope you are all well and not too stressed.
Well I've just had my second default, this time from Barclaycard via Mercers.
Mercers rang a few days ago and said they hadn't got my financial statement but could see I was on a DMP and they had been receiving payments. I told them I would contact CCCS to re-send the statement and they said ok fine we will put a hold on the account until we receive it. Then this morning I received a default letter for one of my Barclaycard accounts (I've got two!) Oh well I suppose it was inevitable that I would get one sooner or later, just not sure whether the next step is to transfer to a DCA or what:confused:

Bluediamond - Sorry to hear about Lloyds haven't got any advice i'm afraid just wanted to wish you good luck with it!! Lovely to hear from you.

Hello to everyone else, will catch up soon but have got visitors coming so this post will have to be short.

    Take Care xx

  • scared...huge congratulations about having your baby girl.would deffo chase that interest thing up.not fair at all

toasti......very good advice from my mates on here.am 44 and id move back in my mum tomorrow!!!perhaps you could move back for a few months while you cleared your head about stuff.am sure your parents will be really great about your debt, cos we all make mistakes....and the biggest fear is the uncertaincy.they will stick by you whatever happens, imho.its so hard to take that first step, but its the hardest thing to do, then it will get easier after that(yes, telling dh comes flooding back!!!)
whats the very worst that could happen???whatever you are picturing isnt half as bad as what you are feeling and experiencing at the mo.good luck and keep in touch xx
welcome back bluediamond......am sure it will all work out ok re the mortgage and debts.give it a few months for them to sort all the transition and then see where you are with them then.
teecee......sorry re the default, had much the same thing with citicards.
hi to everyone else.....had another cap1 letter today for my other a/c.same as other a/c letter.pay arrears and get your a/c back or keep on with dmp and ok but no credit again.
feel a bit sad but my own fault.theres a lesson in there but its still a bitter pill to swallow, iykwim.
    oh,well.....same sh*t, different day.

You keep us up to date with everything you feel comfortable with.

I think you asked in a previous post about telling parents, my mum is in an even bigger mess than me and expected me to handle the stress of all her letters and stuff. She never gave me 5 seconds of concern as to how my situation was.

We have not spoke since February and I have not missed the stress - sorry if that makes me sound heartless.

I would love a fussy mum who cared about her children instead of herself :( But I appreciate in life it always seems we can deal better with other peoples lives than our own!

Take care, chin up and don't be scared of asking for help or hugs!
