Hi All!
Bowz: I am on my DMP for the same length of time as you and I agree that it does seem like forever, my daughter will be eighteen by then and thats scary. However, circumstances are sure to change over the years and you can bring that date down by even just throwing a tenner extra at it. You should feel proud about making a decision to do something aboyt your debt, it is a big step. Do not feel ashamed, you have no need to!!!
DLB: Congrats on clearing £1000 in 4 weeks that is some achievement. I only think that I could spend that much in that time! (Obviously I mean in my pre-mse life)
Pikeygirl and itsnowtime: Welcome to the thread, look forward to reading how you are getting on.
Yellowmonkey (I think): I have copied your idea and have produced a three week meal plan with my sister as we look after each others children so that we can both work. I always jot down my meals for the week on the top of my shopping list so I know where i'm working but the table was a much better idea. So thank you muchly!
I received a letter from A&L current account saying that they were issuing me a default so as usual I panicked. Then I opened the 2nd letter from them and it said sorry about the letter it is just standard practice and they have accepted my payments so panic quickly over!
Other than that I have no real news. Things seem to be going ok, touch wood.
Hope everyone else is well. sorry for the long post- Sweety:wall: Only Dead Fish Go With The Flow!!!

hi
thanks for the reply sweety83 it has reassurred me to know someone else is in a similar position.(my daughter will be 28 by the time we have paid up a grown woman herself and my son will be 24) she does know we are on a budget but that is all she knows and i have not told her anymore. She said she wants to go to university and wants to be a primary school teacher (thats what she plans she is 12 atm). I always think I really hope i have not ruined my childrens lives my husband tells me not to think like that but sometimes i cant help it.
I was feeling okay about it but i think with the guy at cccs mentioning bankruptcy or iva (i know he was probably only trying to help after seeing my balance) but noone at cccs has ever mentioned that before to us. I realise he probably did not know our full details. Even if we sold the house we still would not have enough to pay all debts off. We do have some equity though but obviously still a mortgage balance atm.
I really want to stick with dmp, one creditor has accepted but now have to hope and wait all the others do.
Most of creditors are still saying not received income/expenditure from cccs despite them sending this twice. (one creditor has it) would anyone recommend sending a copy myself to all creditors?
sorry to go on i am having a low day today
still have free cinema tickets for transformers later despite car exhaust blown we are getting the bus so only bus fayre to pay.
bye for now0 -
Hi all need advice coming to the end of being able to manage and lots of people have give me a range of advice. Really thinking about DMP however I was then told a horror story by a aquantance - saying that her friend really struggled and that the debt providers didn't agree to min payments she had lots of angry and threatening letters etc.. As you can imagine has scared me!! Don't know if this has been exagerated or just made up - would love to hear any real experiences out there and future advice as to my next step. Thanks0

Hi Everyone:D
Hope you are all well and things are going smoothly!
dlb - Hi Donna, glad you have sorted the house problem. Well done on raising soooo much in such a small amount of time:T :T :T
bowz - Sorry to hear you are so down! It is really daunting when you first begin your DMP. You are doing so well and it will get better in time. If you hadn't faced your debt and started to deal with it I'm sure you would have been in the never ending spiral of debt for far longer than it will take on your DMP. Creditors do eventually agree to the payments you just need to stay consistent pay the amounts you are required to and they will see that you are committed to paying off your debt. At least they will get something! DCA are often easier to deal with than the orignal creditor so don't let it get you down too much (I know thats easier said than done!)
You are doing a fantastic job just try to stay strong!!!
Pikeygirl and itsnowtime - Welcome it's good to have you on board!
angelneeded - Well done on facing your debts, it can be a long road in becoming debt free but we are all here to help and support where we can. I am on a DMP with CCCS and I can honestly say hand on heart that they have been my salvation. I was having to use credit cards even to buy my food shopping and could see no way out of my debt.
The first few months of a DMP can be quite scary but once it is all up and running things calm down, Some people had lots of letters and calls, however I didn't have any. Most creditors would rather accept reduced payments on a regular basis than no payment at all. It is in their interests to accept and if you are doing a DMP with CCCS or Payplan they send all your payments to your creditors on a pro-rata basis this ensures that all creditors are treated equally and no-one is given preferential treatment.
Once again well done on the brave step of facing your debts and asking for help.
If you need any advice, support or even a chat or a rant then this is the place to be. You have just entered into the most fantastic place on earth for like minded, non judgemental people who will never scold only advise, help and support.
Hope everyone else is ok and life is treating you all well, all quiet in teecee world and DD is away for the night so I may even get near the computer.

Thanks for your kind words and advice, I definately feel that this is my only route and now I have to literally take a deep breathe and the next step. I am really glad I found this forum and will keep you all informed, first I need to add up the true amount - not really looking forward to that !!! But hopefully I can eventually be debt free. I would like some advise on mortgages - when you enter your DMP and you come to the end of your tie in term are you still able to ask your mortgage holder for a better deal or will I then be placed on a higher rate because of bad debt?? Just one of my worries. thanks0

Hi all,
Hope you're having a good day - everything went to creditors and agreement to CCCS this morning! I'm officially dealing with my debt!!
Angelneeded - I asked a similar question - just a thought you could approach your existing lender to see what they can do for you - they might be able to give you a better rate without the need to credit check(??) - good luck with what you decide to do..0 -
Hello everyone
Well it's a lovely day here at the moment. Hope it stays that way. Saying that can't really complain considering what all the people affected by the floods are going through.
Still haven't heard back from Capital One and Great Universal regarding charges so will be sending 2nd letter today.
Going out later today to buy school uniform for DD and DS. I normally leave it to the last minute but have decided to be more organized this year. Will buy it a bit bigger just in case they have a growth spurt but will leave the shoes to nearer the end of the hols.
itsnowtime Congratulations on "officially dealing with your debt :T
angelaneeded Sorry we rent our house so I can't help with mortgages.
hunteress No I haven't read HP book. TBH I am not really a HP fan but wish I was because everyone seems to be talking about it. Have you read it yet? You are probably reading it at the moment because I notice you haven't posted for a few days.
bowz Hope you enjoyed the cinema. You could send another copy of you I&E sheet. When did CCCS send it because it does seem to take a few weeks for creditors to claim they have received it. Think it must go round the houses until it ends up in the correct department.
ilgd The same thing has happened to me with Capital One. I received a letter yesterday saying I would no longer receive statments but am expected to continue to pay agreed amount.Make £10 a day challenge: November - £0/£3000 -
Morning all
hi dreamer - I'm with you cause I'm not a Harry Potter fan either, bought the book, (very mse from ASDA £5) for ds.no3 he hasn't read much yet!! As a school librarian I had to have a "working" knowledge but thats my limit!
All quiet in my world - but I have a right mood on me!!! Just trying to keep busy - already done a load of washing, bathed our very smelly border collie(!) and now going to put the washing out and then clean the bathroom. Holiday day 2 I should be full of the joys instead I'm like a raging bull - have to keep reminding myself that a cigrette won't make things any better - lol!!!
Have a lovey day!
love and hugs
