Yes it does make sense. However I just needed to actually add up the 3 credit cards and the loan. I think if I had done that earlier and realised the TOTAL I owed, I would have stopped earlier - maybeworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

I know how you feel, but one way to look at it is we are dealing with our debts now, and one day we will be debt free :j

Hi all
Hope everyone is well. I haven't had a chance to read through as been at work today. I will have a read later.
I'm counting the days to pay day on Monday. My budget has gone to pot. Had to take loose change into the coin machine in Morrisons yesterday as completey skint and needed to post some Ebay items (buyers had paid with PayPal). I got £20 back and postage was £12 so have £8 left until Monday.
Can't believe what I received in post today - a pre-approved credit card from Capital One. They are one of mine on DMP :rotfl: :rotfl:
Oh well better go DD wants me to take her to bed.

Received my CSSC letter yesterday to say the DMP will start in July and I sent token payments to Lloyds x 2, Egg, RBS and Littlewoods. This morning I received my online banking from Nat West and I just need the rest of the stuff so that I can change all my DD's and my wage can be put into the new bank account.
Question! My wife has no DMP as the debts are in my name so can she still use the Lloyds TSB account without them being predjudiced against her because of my DMP and debts to Lloyds? Or would it just be simpler for me to transfer everything into the new Nat West account? The wife is saying she would like to keep with the Lloyds as she as been with them for over 25 years but it just does'nt seem practical to me! Hellllpppp
On a brighter note I won a signed BWFC Football in a school raffle

Hi boltonbwfc,
We were told lloyds would'nt care whose money was in the bank account, they would use what ever monies were in the account to pay off your debt to them.
Me and hubby have been with lloyds for donkey's years ,we have a new bank account else where. So lloyds can only have what we can afford what we pay on our dmp.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that info craftingqueen. Exactly what i thought. The less Lloyds know I can then direct my payments through the DMP without them taking money from my wifes income.
Do lloyds generally accept DMP's? Not had word back off any of my creditors as yet but the offers from CSSC have gone out about a week ago. How long does this usually take? Thanks again.

hiya boltonbwfc,
Lloydstsb are our main creditors,we have had lots of calls, and letters. But as we are on a dmp,we can't afford to pay them anymore than we are doing. So repeating that on the phone to them when they phone.
In our experience when we haven't answered the phone to them they phone even more,so we just deal with the calls the best way we can.
We have a loan ,2xcc,an account with them ,so far they have only just agreed to hubbies c/c on the dmp, only time will tell.

Thanks for the info again CQ. The worse thing I find about the telephone calls are when you have the kids around and even worse when you have friends or reletives around and you have to lie that you are not in. The worse senario is when the youngest daughter answers the telephone and says 'yes' he's in, the relatives are there and I have to leave the room followed by me saying I can't speak now I am busy, please ring back, then going back into the room to tell the relatives...."bloody sales again" :rotfl:
If you don't laugh you will cry
I actually generally find telling the creditors the situation 'very easily' and when the wife answers they are asking for me and not her so she does'nt have to deal with them. Dependent on the prson who is speaking to me I decide on how to continue with the converstaion! If they are nice, I am nice, if they are arrogant, then I am arrogant back but with more 'tact'!
Must admit though I will be glad when the phone stops ringing! :T
As anyone in the DMP thread changed their telephone number deliberately to stop this?
Off to shopping now to buy the neccessaries! No kids in tow otherwise its trolley overload! :rotfl:

Hiya BWFC,
Hubby answers the same way as you do.Speaking of phonecalls we had two from LLOYDS today.Hubby had a very arrogant lady on the phone, she would'nt take DMP for an answer,so hubby told her this was the end of the call.Ten minutes later phone rang again, from LLOYDS again they asked was it hubby that ended the call,he said yes and went on to make a complaint about the previous caller. He then apologised about his colleague etc,but everything that the first caller had said that they had not received anything from payplan was a lie,and that he knew we were with payplan and that it will take time for each dept to speak to each other.
We are the same we have five children, but touch wood we only have problems with Lloyds.
