I was thinking that, if you are an idiot then you would not manage MS LOL;)

  • I'm doing some stamp shops in December. My sister is going on holiday to Egypt in Feb half term, so rather than give my nephews English money, I thought I'd give them Egyptian money.

Can I pre-order the currency for branch collection, then collect it to use as the transaction for the mystery shopping job? You order it online, then pay for it on collection. I know you can buy Euros on assignments as they keep them in stock, but I wasn't sure about ordered in currencies.

I'm not sure about the pre-ordering part but I always thought that you can't get Egyptian Pounds outside of Egypt. I've been there in 2000 and was told that I wasn't allowed to take any Egyptian Pounds out of the country. Not sure though if this has changed since ....

registered with GAP yesterday and did my first assignement tonight :j

the only problem is that for my area it's only fast food things... so not good for a diet, does not pay much as it's mainly reimbursment of expenses.

I was expeting to have to uplaod the receipt but cant see any place for this so i assumed that if it's not asked when filling the form then i just keep it in case it's wanted later on... Is that right?

Gd i was quite stressed actually :o - but i chose a phone/pick-up thing, i tink i coulld not have done a dine in thing. the most difficult thing was to keep track of exact timing, incl. seconds:eek:

Gap nearly always require a receipt. You can check by logging back in and going to "My Assignments", if a receipt is outstanding it will give you the option there to upload it.

You'll probably find that other jobs will come up with Gap, in time, you just have to log in regularly and keep checking all the locations. Some are a bit weird, like High Street, or Beech Road or something and don't even give you the town! Some tiny villages, you might not even have heard of, depending on how long you've lived in your area, so when I have the time I always check these obscure ones, too.

I found a petrol one for today like that, in a small village just off the A1 that I'd be passing on my fortnightly 200 mile round trip to support a lousy football team:eek: But let's not go there:mad: Wish I hadn't, today!!

You can take in egyptian pounds (never done a stamp shop so don't know about which currencies you can buy etc) but also the Egyptians like the US$ so you could always get these for them - a good exchange rate too :D

Hey, zebulon, as you may be aware by now, you get to upload your receipt once you've completed the questionnaire.

    Hope you enjoyed your ms!

I,m a bit annoyed with RE just now. Done a currency job for them, well tried to, went to the location within hours specified and it was closed, not getting paid. This was, as airports tent to be be, somewhat off the beaten track and takes a bit of your time. Didnt pay very well well either, but trying to build up my ratings right now, is it worth it I ask myself?

If it was closed then I would suggest that you ring them because if it was within the suggested time frame then you will still be paid the fee (obviously not any re-imbursement as you haven't spent anything). This happened to me with a pub job of theirs which was getting refurbished, I rang them and they said they would pay the fee and re-allocate the visit for another day.
All I would suggest is that you check on your page that the fee goes through as it is usually the case that you have to check and politely 'remind' them that they were paying you a failed fee too!!!!!

    Hope that helps.

I had the same problem, it didn't ask me for my receipt at the end! i just e-mailed it to them. Also found it a bit hard, but I think like all MS it's really hard the first time, then gets easier as everything comes naturally to you.
Good luck with future shops, & I hope you enjoyed your free food as much as I did!!

I'll second the GfK ones being a bit complex.

I've got one where I have to 'do' a particular person in quite a large store. The description is quite vague so I've got no idea how I'm going to find said person without looking too suspicious or having to come up with loads of other queries to ask just incase I get near enough to see the badge and find I'm not with the right person - if you know what I mean...

Anyone else got any tips on how to do these?? I don't normally feel nervous as I've been doing this a while now but I think this one might have me stumped![/quote

You could always phone the store first and ask to speak to this person, ask a question something to do with the ms you will be doing, like if its about gaming or something you could ask about if a products in stock or something. then when you go into store you can ask for that person as you have already spoke to them.

    hope that might help.
