My kids think I am very generous. 2 takeaways in 2 weeks! Better up the yoga classes to compensate I think
I got accepted then turned down for a restaurant one on Gap. disappointed. I was going to be a 'lady who lunches' :)

  • Oooo, an interesting question!

I'm 95% sure you will be fine with diesel. Yes, you are correct about the emphasis on filling the CAR - they are very stern that you mustn't fill fuel cans. I suspect that they won't even notice that you buy diesel instead of petrol. (I also suspect that something has got lost in 'translation' here - what do Aussies call diesel?)

I've done this assignment lots of time, and the focus is on cleanliness of the retail outlet, and how the staff present themselves and their venue, so can't think that they'll mind what sort of fuel you buy! :D
I do these jobs and fill up with diesel, so yes it is ok.

 Annoyed with GR. Late payment, ambiguous website FAQ with regard to payment dates, excuses about the 'new system' (August 2007!) processing reports too quickly with not enough readers available to put reports through quality control in time for payment runs, and a chat with a 'supervisor' who acknowledged the problems but then suggested perhaps they weren't the right company for me to shop for under the circumstances. I've been with them for over 3 years. Fuming, and how dare she!!

Also slightly annoyed with Bare who are late with my payment this month, but when I called them, was pleased with the prompt acknowledgement of the delay and ensuing response. I'm also baffled with their system of not issuing test results immediately. After complaining, I've been told that my 'voice sample recording' results will not register on my shop log until the end of the month (I took the test on 2/11) because they wait until they accumulate a bunch of them before going through them. I've still been able to do the Japanese car people phone call and email shops, but only because I complained as these were self assign.

Finally, but this is no big surprise, Gap are at it again, and I probably won't be paid for my warehouse for phones shop because the CSA was not interested in me in the slightest so there was no chance of him filling in the paperwork that I need to upload as proof of me completing the shop.

I guess it's just been one of those months.

Thanks for the links for these. I have signed up with them.

I got an email from TNS saying I hadn't been accepted - is this unusual? It's given me a bit of a complex lol because I thought mystery shopping companies usually accept people.

Also, can I expect to get many assignments from these companies?

It might be worth checking carefully about the diesel. In the past I have had specific instructions NOT to buy diesel (sorry, can't remember if it was Gap or another co) because the pumps tend to be dirtier and would therefore skew the results!

Hi, well filled up with diesel today, thanks to previous responses, also managed to get a reply from a friend in time, who also has a diesel car and Gap has paid him ok.

You can just never tell, can you? I suppose some people (me included, often talk about petrol, "I must get some petrol" etc., and actually my car would be quite poorly if I put petrol in it, being diesel.

At least the green petrol station I'm going to tomorrow, just states "fuel" in the instructions!

You know what Gap are like - no pineapple or else etc:rotfl: What's all that about? The only thing I can think of is that maybe it's cold on a hot pizza or something!

The pineapple restriction is a question I need answering too!

    :D
  • Have done loads of Gap garages and always filled up with diesel, never a problem.
  • Does anyone know if you get another chance at the chicken assigments with GAP if you didnt get 100% on the orientation first time. I must admit I wasnt really paying attention the first time around (it was the very first orientation I had done and I though I would have another go in a different session). However, I cannot access the certification test now. Have I blown my chances with this one now?
