could someone post a list of survey companies and the links please? as I am very interested in doing these and don't want to search through all 56 pages. Also perhaps it could be added to the first post so others can find it easily? Many Thanks

Mystery shopping requires attention to detail so maybe searching through 56 pages would be good practice.

Or, seeing as you want someone to do the searching for you, maybe you'd like us to do your mystery shops for you as well?

We have all had to find out for ourselves, why should you have it handed on a plate?

Sorry if that sounds blunt

I found this coincidentally on another thread so for anyone who might find it helpful:
It seems to have been written by chev so many thanks to the OP for this post:

www.lightspeedpanel.com - this is a survey site, where you get points which turn into vouchers (you choose). May not help with the cash flow, but the vouchers could be saved towards birthday/xmas or given as presents.

www.ciao.co.uk - survey site that gives money. A bit fits and starts ie no surveys for a couple of weeks, then three or four the same day.

www.yougov.com - again paid surveys. However takes a while to get to the minimum payout level

www.mytns.com - again this is a survey site, but it pays you in points that convert into Nectar points at Sainsbury’s.

www.pigsback.co.uk - this is a points site, ie they give you points for buying things via their site. BUT you also get points for signing up for news letters (some of which are even interesting!), and also for clicking on adverts with pink borders. I have spent NOTHING with them but got a £10 voucher through this week (only been registered since January). There is also a thread in the freebies section, of www.moneysavingexpert.com which gives you all the daily answers to the competitions so you can have a better chance of winning on them.

www.mutualpoints.com - another points for clicks site. You can also buy things via their site and get points too. For a long time, I just clicked the links in the emails they send you, and that gets you 5 points. At 3000 points you get £20 I think. You can do searches via their site and that gets you points too.

www.quidco.com - this is a cash back site, so very good, for checking if any potential new insurers (ie if you have checked your contents insurance say and found a new provider), are offering cash back. Eg Lloyds was offering £120 cashback on new policies at one point (the offers do change). You can also get small amounts of cash again for doing searches via their site. You can earn 52p a day by doing this. Every little helps.

www.greasypalm.co.uk - another cash back site, where you can do searches and get small amounts of money. But it all adds up. I think you can get about 50p a day on there for nothing. Minimum payout is £20 I think, but you can sign up to survey sites via there, and get extra money that way for nothing.

p.s please could someone put this on the front page as I think it would be helpful to people along with the MS companies. Thanks.

  • Dancingfairy, I apologise. I posted a slightly sniffy reply to your post, but then I realised that you were talking about SURVEYS, not MS, so I deleted it. Your list is very useful, and I agree it should be pasted at the top of the thread.

I would however warn people - I used to be a survey junkie, but they are incredibly exploitative (so much so that they even make MS look well paid!) - the only ones worth doing are yougov and one I can't remember the name of, which is German based. Ciao is completely immoral - they will get you to answer hundreds of questions (well, sometimes about 20) and then tell you that you don't qualify!
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

Thanks for this, its not the mystery shopping assignments I have been allocated although I did sign up for them. Its the telephone surveys, any experience of these?

I have been doing them for several months now and yes it can be alot to take in I find it easier to pick one company and stick with them so you get used to one telephone patter and dont always go for the higher payers as you are on the phone for longer. Start with the less pay as you can do more in a shorter time hope this helps

A bit of a thick question here for Tax Credit purposes. I mystery shop for TNS, and I was wondering how long each shop actually takes up? I asked my regional controller and she said around 30 minutes. Well that sounds like bullish to me, because some shops specifically ask you to stay in the restaurant for 1.5 hours. Does anyone else apply for Tax Credits and what do you put? Obviously it will be different for each shop, but it does take time to find mystery shopping work, understand everything properly, travel to the destination, do the shop, write the results, enter the results online, reply to calls and emails asking for more information etc. IM me or say something on the boards even. Thanks in advance.
  • I have tax credits and told them I will be working 16 hours a week as I was not sure at the time. I also told them a rough figure of what I would be earning ffrom the work, but I presume as the renewals come along next year you would be able to give them a more precise figure on hours/pay etc.

i think that's really rude actually and quite pathetic too.

this is a place where people can ask questions or ask for help. if we're not willing to share then it defeats the point of the whole forum.
  • Hi sara-rara :) I see it's the first time you've posted here. Don't worry- that's the first time anybody's been rude to me and I've been here for a year or 2. Most people are really quite helpful. I hope you won't get the wrong impression of these boards from one person and keep posting.
p.s thanks for sticking up for me. :)

No, it isn't. I am one of the people who have found many of the companies themselves and why should we serve everything on a silver plate, creating more competition for ourselves in a market, where fees are going down because of people who think it's a good idea and tempt the mystery shopping companis to lower the fees more and more.

Apart from that - if people could be bothered to read even the first post of this thread they wouldn't have to ask such questions 50odd pages into it!!!

And yes, it is winding me up again and again when people say they don't have the time or patience or whatever to read all these pages - I didn't even dare to post on the first thread before I read it all ... in case I would have a question which was already answered.

I repeat myself when I say that mystery shopping is a business and hard work and not something to be taken lightly. If you don't have the time or patience to read 50odd pages then MS is not for you.
