  • Not posted here before but have beenreading thisthread for along time. You all seem to knoweach other so well so feel in a way i am intruding.

I am suffering from depression big time and just feel so lonely. I dont see anyone from one day to the next and part of me likes it that way as i dont have to face anyone but i also feel lonely. I have a hearing loss, social phobia and depression so asyou can imagine I dont really like going out much. I just "get through" each day but when i see my sister (shehas4 kids and lotsof grandchildren) and she tellsme shehas been staying at one of her kidsovernight, had a great time etc., I feel even more depressed and very jealous. I am in my mid 50's and suddenly find myself with no friends/no social life. My sister who i thought i was close to, when i really look at it, only comesround when she has aproblem. When all iswell with her shedoesnt comeround but has all her family to visit and go out for mealswith. I dont talk to her about my depression but she knows i dont go out so must know how hurtful it iswhen she goes on and on about the lovely time she hashad going for a meal with her kids.

Sorry to go on but just feeling so very v ery low right now.

Tiff, Thank you for your lovely post.

Awww Tiff the break will be good for you :) and hopefully you will enjoy yourself too. It sounds like a lovely place...stately home, 4 acres of gardens- sounds wonderful. Lets hope you have lots of sunshine during your break. Will your CPN/support worker stay with you the whole time?

It's only natural that you will worry about your son while you are away but i'm sure he will be fine. I'm sure you've taught him well :) It will be good for him to gain some independance.

It's understandable that you are going to be extremely anxious the weeks leading up to travelling and of course when you get there but you've just got to be an extra strong Tiff :D and take lots of deep breaths and you will be fine. I'm guessing that you will have on site support and/or your CPN nearby/on the phone or something like that should you require it. Remember what they have told you hun relax and have fun :)

:hello: Ethel, I hope your foot gets better soon. Hopefully the stockings will help.

I bet you can't wait to stay in the hotel now :) How long are you staying for?

I'm glad to hear that your son has returned home. You must be pleased :)

I really hope the meetings re: daughter go well tomorrow. How does she feel about coming off her section and the possibility of being discharged soon? I really hope she still receives a high level of care after she is discharged. It will be very hard for hr to adapt to normal life so to speak so she will need lots of support around her. At least she's got a great Mum :)

:( Sorry to hear about your parcel going missing. I hope it turns up ASAP.

Sazbo, hug2sc5.gif Where have you been hiding! How are things with you? How is work? I hope you are looking after yourself.

Let_Robinson_Sing, It's lovely to see a post from you. You're sounding very positive about life :) I hope things are going well with you and your girlfriend. Keep us updated hun. Hope you drop by again soon.

slowlyfading, I'm glad to hear you're having a good time back at home. How long are you there for?

:T CONGRATULATIONS :T on getting the job. That's great news. What kind of job is it? When do you start? WELL DONE!

Katie, I bet you're relieved it's all over and done with :) Sounds like you coped well with the whole thing :) I've never had an MRI scan but I've heard that some people can feel very claustrophobic. When do you get the results?

Your dinner sounds yummy. You always eat such lovely food :) mmmm...chocolate indulgence yummmmy.

I had an appointment with my social worker today. What a total waste of time! I was honest for a change and told her that I wasn't feeling much better and that life was pretty much the same as it was back in Feb. she rarely says anything to help me at all. She either sits there and nods or stares at me. How is that bloody helping me  She noticed the cuts on my arm and said it was OK as long as I don't cut deep. She then asked if I wanted to cut so that it was fatal. I just shrugged my shoulders, I'm not bothered. I said to her that the help (if you can call it that) I'm receiving doesn't stop me wanting to kill myself and she basically agreed. She says I've been with the team a long time now and there really isn't a lot more they can do. I have a CPA (care programme approach review) in early July. It's looking like I will be discharged from the whole mental health service.

I'm obviously one of their failures that they weren't able to help.

    Hello

firstly dont worry bout intruding, your not, we are all friends here, and welcome to the family :D

Have you seen your GP? and do you have any support or help in place? if not then this would be the first thing to sort hun. Get a stable base from which you can work on.

Have you tried talking to your sister and telling her how you feel?

    take care x

    :hello: imported_Goldie,

You are so not intruding posting on here, welcome to the Depression thread :)

You have done the right thing posting how you are feeling,Have you got anyone other than your sister you can chat to?.For me I spoke to the Smaritans when life for me got tough and they listened and didnt judge me :) would you be able to chat to them if you cant go out?

other than phoning them on 08457 90 90 90 you can also e-mail them

    jo@smaritans.org

they are there 24/7 if you need them and I so recommend them, they keep what you tell them confidential so your sister wont know what you tell them.

    Hope this information helps you

The tourism trophy sounds like a mad event. I hope you enjoyed yourself though. I'm sorry to hear about your friends death :( that must be very hard. I expect he would want you to go though wouldn't he? squeeziehay9.gif

Do you still keep in touch with the people you met in hospital? I'm glad you can relate to what I said hun.

I would ask your counsellor when you will next see your own psychiatrist. It's really bad that they just give you the locum each time.

oooh you have a boyfriend :) good fo you hun. Make sure he treats you right. I'm really pleased for you.

    Look after yourself hun xxx

    Hi rose!:hello:
Hope today finds you well hun.

    quote=rose07
    Hi hun
Yeah, let as many cats out as ya want, you know what im like hun, ;)
   !!! Not the wellies - please!!!   ;)

Thanks hun, i had a good time last night. Rosie has.......wait for it.... A boyfriend :D:D:D .
    faint.gif - :j :j :j - That's great hun!:T You certainly know how to spring surprises - I hope it works out for you rosie!:j

He is italian, my kinda age. I can tell by he way he looks at me, dreamingly into my eyes, that he likes me. he said today, that I look beautiful, that all he needs to do is look at me, and it makes him smile, he lightens up. :T :D . Lets see how long it lasts.......Rosie bein a cautious rose ;)
Bless you. Yes, by all means be cautious hun but don't forget to enjoy your new relationship too.;)

And hun, its in my nature to worry bout you Tiff your like an extended part of my family.
Yep hun - there's a few of us that have been here through a lot of pages. In my case, that means that I haven't got a life!:D ;)

Im soo busy i keep missin my meds, i know Tiff, naughty rosie, but it doesnt seem to sway me, feelin ok.
ROSIE!!! Now you know that I'm going to have words with you young lady!tapping.gifwhip.gif;)

You must take your meds angel until you've seen your dr and discussed it with them. You can say you've missed some hun and that you think you feel better without them and then see what the dr advises. He may agree and help you to come off them slowly - never a good idea to completely stop a med without your dr knowing.:o

There are two reasons for this angel - firstly, you may be feeling fine now, but is that due to you being so busy, finding a new boyfriend and work? Do you know how the long term will make you feel sweetie? You may be feeling well because of the meds still being in your system.

Secondly, your medical records will say that you are still taking this medication. God forbid, but if you were taken very ill or were to have an accident and not able to talk to them at the time, they'll base their treatment and medication decisions on what your records say and that could be a vital factor in your recovery - or not!:o
So be a good rose and just check in with the dr hun - I know this is all highly unlikely thankfully,:T but we don't want anything happening to our rosie!;) Always better to be safe than sorry hun.

    Ok Tiff Talk over with!:D
I'm really pleased for you angel - you're going off at high speed now, no stopping you. I hope you'll go from strength to strength rose! Take care hun.hug.gif
    Much Love,
