Depression II

St Johns Wort didnt help me as it is really just for mild/moderate depression. Heard lots about omega 3 helping depression so worth a go. If it doesnt work though will have to seriously consider taking cilatropam again as being tearful most days now which it did stop. Would be grateful if any of you on it could let me know what you think of it, what sort of side effects you have, howlong you been on it etc. Does anyone get tremors when on it as I noticed my hands becoming shaky after a few months. I have to think long and hard before going back on it as when i was coming off it (did it ther ight way, very slowly) I had very bad nausea for three whole months.0

hello all and welcome Goldie,
not got much to say today cos am knackered from working on flat, almost everyday since 2nd may, reckon work will take me through to september working most days, not pleased but at least i can do the work, drinking to much as well but thats the way it is till this is done,
Goldie you said
" Just feel, like many of you i suppose, that when you dont have a life and people aregoing on about what a great time they have had, it is like a knife in the back."
I often think and have similar feelings to the above but i have found that when most say what a great time they are having and so on that in reality this may not quite be so,people often fill in their day (or days) with endless distractions ,being fully booked and so on,they go on holidays but come back more stressed than when they left, working their butts off to pay their way ,all they can do then is crash out watching the telly etc,
I have felt for a while that those who are afflicted by mental health issues who seek help and identify the work to be done(even if it takes years as in my case) are far better companions than those who are in denial or not yet identified with their issues and problems,i've not seen any flaming on this thread and people are very insightful and supportive.(as an example)
Kind Regards

Hi andi!:hello:
How are you andi? I hope Tuesday is being kind to you.
quote=andipandi;Hello folks, dodgy day here, found out floor joists, wall plates and floorboards(knew about the boards) need replacing as wet rot has mutilated the lot,
sent OH to b&Q to get some timber, then bus driver said you can`t bring it on bus so had to walk upto B&Q s to bring home, bus was empty, timber on trolley, no problem, just a bottom ache bus driver.
That's awful hun!:o Sounds like he's a real 'jobs-worth'! It's not like you were planning to build it on the bus! If it was too big, you couldn't have carried it. This sort of thing ticks Tiff off!
When you see him again, tell him Tiff wants a word!:D
so what was 1 days work is now about 3 days(if i'm lucky) at least plus cost of materials,
Neighbour probs as well cos they neglect their dog(springer spaniel),they don`t walk it,we end up doing it half the time, and i'm fed up with saying nothing,(another watch this space!)
Spaniels are hunting dogs by nature and need a lot of exercise and stimulation. If it's becoming too much of an issue and you're worried about the dog, I know it'll be an unpopular answer, but you can call Environmental Health or the RSPCA to check things out hun.
Or why not suggest that you keep the dog? Can't believe I've had to say the 'd**' word!:D
Put extra memory in pc and it kept crashing so been in contact with shop that sold it, they want reciept i said can't find it will bring bank statement.
Sod all of it because i`m not depressed as i would have been not so long ago
You're having one of those days hun.We all get them, where a few things seem to go wrong at the same time. Well done for keeping it all in perspective angel.:T Just look at is as a male version of PMS!;)
BUT my issues folder is starting to fill up lol.(otherwise known as my diary).
Just wanted a mutant rant!!(hope i can hold it together with neighbours though).
keep it together out there friends

I'm sure you'll manage andi. Great place this for a rant. Good luck with the neighbours hun and keep your chin up.
Much Love,

Hi ethel!
How are you angel? It's so good to be hearing from you - I miss you when you're not here!:A quote=EthelBloggs;Morning everyone :hello:
Aww tiffy, you'll be fine.. it'll be such a learning curve for you
Yes, the words cliffs and sheer drop spring to mind!
I've decided not to get too terrified before I go otherwise I won't be able to enjoy the sheer terror of the actual moments!:D
Wish I could come with you, I've only ever driven thru yorkshire, never been able to stop and have a lookie around and it does look so lovely up there.
I'll take you hun.;) In fact, they've got to get me in the car first so there still maybe a place free there! I am looking forward to it.
Nothing much to report here, I think I have a 'free' day today, the only one this week,
Bet it didn't end up being free angel! Sod's law as it were.
lol so I'm going to be sorting out my bedroom.. yes guys, my wardrobes are finally up and now it looks like a jumble sale up there sooo... wish me luck (dons waders and snorkel)
If you're not out by September, I'll send in a search team!:D Happy cupboard filling hun.;) I'm thinking of you and hoping the leg is feeling better hun.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx

Hi ethel hun!:hello:
quote=EthelBloggs;Hiya Tiffy
And apparently swimming is very good cos of the water pressure so I might give that a go, the hotel I'm staying in next weekend has a pool and spa so......
No need to rub it in!!!:D You're there to represent your community - how dare you even think of having a good time!;) You go for it girl - don't forget that beautiful red dress!:T
Son is home again, he was a bit sheepish, apologised and said he didn't know what came over him. He gave his g/f a hard time too this weekend so at least it wasn't just me. He sees his counsellor every 2 weeks but i think its early days yet, he's still sussing it out.
That's great news hun!:j :T The trials of being a mom to a teenager eh ethel!:rolleyes:I'm glad he's home angel.
Daughter is coming off her section tomorrow  so we have meetings from 2pm, the last one starts at 5pm so it's going to be a draining day. The hospital seem to think she'll be ready for discharge shortly but I still think it's too soon.
Tell them that angel - you must remind them that you know her best! I hope the meetings have gone well - sorry I missed you this a.m. hun.
Then there's a care plan meeting on Wednesday afternoon to discuss what will be available to her in the community - just spoke to social worker who said "not much" so I dunno what's gonna happen there
You'd be amazed at the difference a mental health advocate might make to your situation hun.:o There should be day services also provided by the mental health clinic/team too.
Ho hum.. if it doesn't kill me, it'll make me stronger eh? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Oooo ethel - I don't like that phrase! It makes it sound like we're being told to get on with it. It won't imho, always make you stronger - it can end up wrecking you!
Oh well, what can you do? ...That's another one!!!:D
big huggs tiffy, and lots of love. I'll reply to your email asap xxxxxxxxx/quote
I understand angel - you know where I am.;) Hope it went well today hun and I'm sending you huglets for tomorrow.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx

Am very low at the moment. I wonder why I bother staying in a relationship when the ex-wife says "jump" he always says "How high?"Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what yer gonna get0

AND  to top it all he can't remember the date of my birthday. After 4 years together he has to ask me!!! He doesn't want it to clash with something he wants to do with some friends. I am so upset. I don't even want anything for my birthday I just want him to remember the blooming date. Am I being over sensitive? Actually, I am fuming as well as upset.Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what yer gonna get0

imported_goldie wrote: »Thanx for your lovely replies. Have seen my doctor many times re my depression. I have been given cilatropam (something like that anyway). I took it last year but came off it because the night sweats are just unberarable. Have tried many anti-dep's and all have side effects so have just started, as a last resort, to take 2grams omega 3 to see if that will help. I wouldnt want to go out for the meals with my sister and her family because my hearing loss is so bad that i always feel out of it when they have aconversation and are laughing (jokes not the same when it hasto be repeated to me after everyone has laughed at it). Just feel, like many of you i suppose, that when you dont have a life and people aregoing on about what a great time they have had, it is like a knife in the back. Part of me wonders about taking anti-d's anyway because it wont change my life, I will still have ahearing loss and be socially isolated. As my doctor said - it wont make the problem go away but it helps you copewith it - but the side effectsreally aretoo much. Anyone here tried omega 3? Hope today is going ok for you all.
Hiya Goldie
I'm on citalopram too.. although I've been really bad about forgetting to take them lately*runs off to hide from Tiffy* I've been really lucky and not had any side effects at all.
Omega 3 has helped some people, I think Beer had good results from it, he posts here sometimes, and also vitamin D - I had really good results from that, must remmeber to start taking it towards the end of the summer again.
Something else I found really really good was having sunbed sessions, that really picked my mood up loads as well as making me look fab too.
St John's Wort made me come out in a horrible rash  lol☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆
