:T Bank: Lloyds, Barclays and Halifax
Amount claimed: £13500
Amount paid: £13000
My sister wrote a letter to Barclays claiming just over £10,000 bank charges on behalf of a friend. After the 2nd letter they settled up. She done one for me for Lloyds claiming £1000 i got £750 after having a meeting with the bank manager. Halifax paid nearly all of my £1400 after 1 letter. Although we were quite forceful with the first letter they were no pushovers. Between my sister and I we have claimed nearly £15,000 in bank charges and MEAFs. £15 grand for the sake of a couple of letters and phonecalls which have taken no more than an hour inclusive. PLEASE, PLEASE claim all your charges back and thanx to Martin Lewis and all MSEs for giving us people power!!!!!!

hi i am claiming against hsbc for both credit card charges (have been given partial offer but going to FOS for a full one). Am also trying to claim against them for current account charges using the hardship waiver, how does this work they keep returning my complaint saying they need to make a review of my finances before they will consider it, i want to go direct to the FOS on this but not sure how to progress is there a form to complete to ask for my claim to be heard by FOS as a harship one? Im stuggling to make ends meet and keep my head above the water am claiming for roughly £400 not a lot i know, but its two months rent or food and every little helps. Any advice appreciated as i feel at a dead end here0

CONGRATULATIONS  has this happened since the OFT case?
No fortunately for us this happened about a week b4, There was a couple of cases in the news and lloyds bank manager called us in to say they would wait till the cases were over and the FSA had made a decision so we said we would go to court and as the majority of people who were claiming were winning did they wanna take the risk? It worked for us.:jmel1010 -

The bank is obliged to review your account before considering your claim as a hardship case so you need to fill in the forms they ask for and if they still refuse you as a hardship case you can then take your case to the FO.0 -

I think this was the biggest single claim and it was against a business account. I really don't know how we have let the banks get away with it for so long but they had us over a barrel.
I feel so sorry for the banks getting their fingers burn in the sub-prime mortgage market package deals they all bought on a get rich quick scheme (not) LOLGot It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -
